Live in Light Journal: Inspirational Prompts for Christian Teen Girls (Inspirational Devotional for Teen Girls)

I purchased this to give to a friend’s daughter and I wanted to share a few things to consider before you purchase this journal:1.) A few prompts/questions in the book are a bit assuming. Some girls may have never been on a vacation or to an ocean so “Have you ever been to the ocean on a calm day…?” seems to exclude some who have not had the privilege socioeconomically. Also the page titled “Got Grandparents?” and the journal prompt is to describe them, may be discouraging for girls who do not. (Just to consider)2.) The pages on seeking attention and dating I thought were worth mentioning. (see photos)The journal mentions Jesus, is nice and has really good prompts, just these few things that made me reconsider the gift once I read through the pages.

Melanie Redd truly has given a light for teen girls through this beautiful and thought provoking journal. I found the prompts thought-provoking, meditative, and well suited for today’s world. Her biblical passages were seamlessly placed within the journal prompts and truly made me think. This is a perfect gift for young women and for teen/college aged small groups. Frankly, being in my 30s — it was wonderful for me as well! I highly recommend it to everyone!

Although the target audience is teen girls, Melanie Redd has presented a simply beautiful way for any age reader to examine the deep things that impact our lives. A few verses of scripture, a prompt to think about an important issue, room to journal a personal response, followed by a weekly review leads the reader to record personal progress in growing a deeper relationship with the Lord.Redd covers topics from social media to anger to response to God’s prompting. For example: using Jeremiah 33:3 she asks, “If you could meet him (God) at Starbucks, what would your conversation entail?” The journaling format allows for open, heartfelt reflection and response. Some pages may lead to repentance and restoration. Others to a better understanding of relationships with family and friends.A simply wonderful way to help my young sisters grow. I will be ordering additional copies to gift to others, but this grandma will keep a copy too. We are never to old to learn and grow in our faith walk.

Y’all this journal is amazing.Do you have a teen or know a teen? Teen years are tough. Teens need extra loving. I was happy to preview the original book, Live in Light, so I knew this journal would be just as wonderful. And it doesn’t disappoint. My soon-to-be teenaged daughter loves journaling, like many of her friends also do. I know she will love the brief writing prompts, which are great for shorter attention spans. The colors and layout are perfect for this age group. A great gift for the teen girl in your life.I received a preview copy of this book from the publisher.

This journal is a wonderful complement to the earlier book for Teen Girls. The prompts and suggested Bible passages starts the conversation. We need more Christian materials that support and encourage Teen Girls like this book does. Thank you Melanie Redd for these wonderful book/journal. This would be a great way to start off summer vacation right into the fall.
