Great addition to fire table
My wife bought a fire table that cost a lot, but didn't come with electronic ignition! Ridiculous. The table's burner is raised about 1", and of course covered with fire glass, so I needed an ignitor with two long electrodes. Took a chance on this one and I am glad I did. It works perfectly, but I did need to modify it. The electrodes on this ignitor are 3" long, which was about 1" longer than I wanted, preventing us from placing the cover on the table when it was not in use. No big deal, it was easy to cut the electrodes down with a dremel and bend one of them to make it functionally the same as the original. I mounted the battery/button piece next to the gas control valve and the table looks like it came with this feature from the factory! Instructions were easy to follow and did not contain any errors.

Can't be mounted (Battery powered spark) Doesn't work. Failed Inspection.
Contractor Review: This device is unsafe in my opinion. City Building Inspector made us remove it as it failed to light gas on most attempts. Appealed to Fire Inspector, who tested it at the firehouse, and he not only called it unsafe, but said he had to destroy it to avoid it being used elsewhere. Unless you want open circuits exposed, most people would have this mounted in stone, wood, etc. but because it needs batteries, (most built-in ignition devices don't use batteries, but electro-magnetic spark) mounting is very impractical. Don't risk your life, or the lives of your children on something that only sparks one in ten times. Just use a long reach lighter. Don't get creative until someone makes something more durable and reliable. (Other reviewer who had to mess with Electrodes to get it to work should give you an idea how poorly this was designed. Seems to have belonged in a different product and this was surplus part)

Works for adding electric ignition to your firepit.
Easy to set up though I was surprised that the American fire glass 30 x 10 fire pit burner kit didn't have predrilled holes for something like this. The probes are long but I cut them down so the spark would be at the ideal height to ignite the flame. Also the screw holes to the button assembly is on the back side so you'll have to mount this on a thin board first if you want to secure this down somewhere on your firepit.

This product works great, I'm knocking it down a star though because the electrodes were seem to be a bit too long (they stuck up out of the fire pit rocks) and I had to trim them down with an abrasive wheel on my grinder.
