Great Educational toy
Overall, the Melissa & Doug Play Money Set is a great educational toy, but be aware of the potential for mess due to the open-top storage box. It’s high quality, with sturdy coins and a durable wooden "cash drawer" for sorting. I appreciate that the paper bills and plastic coins are familiar-looking and close in size to real currency, which enhances the imaginative play experience and learning accuracy. For storage purposes, I may use some ziploc bags in the future, but for now my son has been good at keeping everything mostly organized. (Age 5)

Fake money worth the money.
Great quality as always from Melissa and Doug. A great learning add for kids today as so many can’t make change for a dollar. Messy picking it all up but fun just the same.

Great... but WHY NO LID?!
It's a good set and I will be using it as a homeschooling supplement to teach my kids the concept of money, counting, math etc. But what I want to know is what Melissa & Doug was thinking not putting some sort of LID on this item. I understand some people probably buy it for a playroom cashier or something, but in my house I don't let my kids throw stuff around like that and you know that's exactly what young kids are going to do. So it needs to be kept up high on a shelf where my 20 month old and 3 year old can't get it because I know just what kind of carnage they will create with all these bills and coins.

This helped my daughter for her class. She's in second grade. Her teacher told me after break she will learn coins. I bought this for her and we played cashier and my daughter had a blast. She came home with a 100% on her test. We had a blast playing. Very helpful.
