So far, it's fine
This router has a pretty advanced interface page with a lot of options, but is simple enough to set up and run with no other experience. Everything is controlled via the standard 192.168.0.1 address, and navigation on it is fairly cut and dry.Yes, this router has guest-access capability with or without password protection. No (to my knowledge), you cannot restrict access on the guest line without doing so on the main line as well.Yes, this router is designed for a "private cloud" FTP (although I'm still talking with tech support trying to figure that out...updates to come).Yes, this range carries enough strength to hit everywhere in a 1200 square foot apartment.Yes, you can allow remote access.Overall, it's fine. If I can get the FTP figured out, I will update with detailed explanation. If not, the rating will be lowered. But as a basic router goes, it's good.

Setup and performance issues; Not worth the low price
The only thing keeping this from being a 1-star review is the low price and the ease of setup. I had an N300 for the last two years or so, and then suddenly the item seemed to be failing. Though I could see the network, I was suddenly unable to connect to it, from either a computer or phone, even though nothing had changed on the network (password, location, etc). I was happy with the performance/range of the item so I purchased another identical model. However, this time, the new unit failed for the same exact issue as before, inside of 3 weeks. When I tried to contact customer service to speak with someone, I never reached a live person, only an automated system that allowed you to leave a message.Even without the issue above, before the failure occurred, I had much difficult using either of the phone apps, the setup app, or the cloud app. The setup app kept telling me it need to download updated software and reset the router, even after doing so initially. I was never able to get the setup app to run and allow me to change the network settings, and instead had to connect directly to the router using an Ethernet cable and dial into the IP to get the network set up. The cloud app was never able to recognize the USB drive I attached.Too many issues with this item to justify the cheap price. There are so many others out there at similar price that don't have these issues.

Didn't use or rate the cloud function. Cheap but it has compatibility issues and connection loss
I bought this because of the price and ratings (they were 5 when I purchased) . I didn't buy this router for the cloud function. I bought it to upgrade from a cheap G band router. My old router had a hard time reaching the 4th level of our house, and this router struggles with the same and has compatibility issues.I installed a network extender to plug into the wall, on the other end I plugged the old router in so we would have better wireless coverage of the 4th floor. Essentially router inception... A router plugged into a router.Pros:CheapN bandLots of featuresEasy to set upCons:Sometimes Skiva just disappears from from the wifi list on all devices (iPad 2, smart TV, laptop, iPhone, Windows Phone, etc)Some of the wired ports stopped working. I plugged my desktop into a different port and it resolved the issueInternet will just stop working twice a week, when I hard wire it to the modem it works so it's definitely the routerOther thoughts:I bought it for $25, I see it's cheaper now. For $20 I'd say it isn't the worst router you could buy. If your life depends on never having a connection drop out, or you just want to save yourself the hassle of testing whether it's the router or your provider, get something else. The router inception seems to work fine, the 4th floor is like the Bermuda triangle of router signals, they seem to always get lost when traveling from the main floor no matter what kind of router.Another thing I thought of in retrospect. If you have a G band router that is doing fine, don't upgrade to an N router. Save your money and wait for the AC band routers to drop in price so you don't buy it and think "dang, I just bought an N band and now they have better technology". I could have gotten a bad unit so for 20 bones it's not a bad gamble.

installation was easy on MACBOOK.
I bought this product to replace for timewarner wifi router. I was paying extra 5$ + tax just for using wifi and I didn't like that monthly extra payment, so I shopped around and this product works really really well, in fact it feels like quite fast as well. I contacted to customer service of Skiva, and asked couple questions regarding connections, customer service was very easy to approach, and representative who helped me, and guide me was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what problem was. I am a women, no expert about computer, but installation was very easy to follow. I am also using MACBOOK, and I had no problem to install/setup this product. I love this product so fat. I will keep update if I see any issues popping up, but I don't see any problem so far. Thank you Skiva.
