Stabilizer (cyanuric acid) is used to protect chlorine from being broken down by sunlight. The recommended range for proper stabilization is 40-70ppm cyanuric acid. Too low of a stabilizer level generally results in an over consumption of chlorine or the inability to maintain a chlorine residual. This can lead to unsanitary water and algae growth.

Didn't work for me
Did not stabilize the chlorine properly for a 20 foot round above ground pool. I used the whole container and still had no chlorine reading. Went to the pool supply store and got their stabilizer and immediately had a reading. Not thrilled with this product.

Stabilizer
I used Nava stabilizer because i was having problems with my new pool .the chemical balance was up in the air and the chlorine was being zapped out in heat.Florida is bad for pool chlorine usage.but the Nava stabilizer cured the problem.
