Both. Mine pergola is square, so I only had to decide how much overhang I wanted for shade.

Same here, rods were pretty pathetic. I’m not aware of the option of replacement rods, not that I would want the same kind. I’m going to Lowe’s and purchase 2 lengths of PVC pipe the same length, drill holes in each end and attach them with zip ties.

Q: what are the rods made of?

This is just the replacement cover. No rods included. Where you insert the rods, is tight. Was very difficult to get the old rods into the new cover. Also, the cover was about 8in to wide.
