Smartseal ‘Block Magic' – A Re-Colouring Block Paving Sealer. Superior to a Concrete Paint - Transform Old Block Paved Drives or Patios - Easy to Apply (Grey, 150ml Sample)

I ordered 3 x cartons of dark grey for our patio, side path and front path (end house). Had a little bit left for tweaks. The smell is strong but as the job was outside it didn't affect me at all. It did drift into the house but soon disappeared. We fully prepped the areas then started with the transformation from tired cream 45cm pavers to a lovely grey, clean looking expanse. The result is fantastic! I did find that I needed to go over some of the pavers and the mortar joins in places. Where I had to do this has left a higher sheen than on the more general application of product. But it hasn't detracted from the overall effect. Soaking the roller before starting would've led to better, more even application. I did 2 coats over everything and on some pavers an additional coat (if needed). So easy to apply. 2nd coat moreso as the 1st coat gets absorbed into the pavers. Now the pavers aren't porous so when it rains the moisture sits on top of the pavers so I can sweep or mop it away. Winter time I'll use sand if icy. Buying 3 x cartons was definitely great value for money as it was roughly a £30 saving rather than buying 3 x separately ordered cartons. Great product all round. I highly recommend.

Good product, not as dark as we wanted so ordered a dark grey sample size.

Very good paint for block paving and slabs, thin enough to easily roll, which is great for large areas. if you need any help the company are extremely good and will advise the best product for your specific requirement. Just a bit more info on how to clean the brush/roller would be good, but my fault for not checking.

Brilliant, drive had 2 car tracks and no amount of power washing would remove it, used the black and after 2 coats of this and a coat of clear sealer the drive looks brand new, blocks were natural colour but always looked dirty and this gave a natural black paving look, the instructions says pressure wash give 2 coats of the colour resand and then clear coat, i pressure washed then resanded the joints then put the colour on then clear sealed, if you do it the way the instructions tell you the resanded joints will not be even and will look terrible and will stand out like a sore thumb as its very light in colour, the way i did it recolours the sand aswell as the blocks and it turned out beautifull, would buy this again

Well we ummed and ahhed and stood there for hours deciding do we do this? It was a big gamble because if it looked horrendous we could not do anything about it. Any how we went for it and so glad we did, it has completely changed the look of the old faded block bricks. I rollered it on and used a brush to get between the gaps, it was very easy to use. I must add though it really has a very very strong smell. I had so many comments from people when I was doing it saying how good it looked. Really happy with the outcome, just need to seal it now. UPDATE:: looks good initially, but be prepared you have to do it every year because it wears off,, even after sealing, reduced my rating score because of this!

Went for the grey sample to refresh some block pavers which I used to make a edging border and blend with younger blocks on later projects. The grey is a bit bluey but after some faffing with more needed grout it has softened the blue . Yet to be sealed. The photos show with with and old mortar effect on the bluey tone. Great size for an experiment before going in big guns. Arrived ahead of anticipated delivery.
