Castle of Spells (Island of Fog Book 9)

This book has to be the best of a great series. Can't wait to start island of fog legacies after reading book five. I recommend all books to everyone shed 9-14

I absolutely love this series. Once I got started, I couldn't stop reading. This is possibly my all time favourite series. If you like wings of fire then this is a great series. I just wish that there were hundreds more!

Castle of Spells closes out the massive Island of Fog series with ambitious adventure and emotional weight. It's the ninth and final book in the saga as told from Hal's point of view. I'm fine with saying goodbye to Hal as the driving narrative point of view because I know Keith is gung-ho to tell stories from the POV of many of the other characters. I personally want to see him tackle Thomas as I love manticores.Queen Bee's ruthless plans rampage through this volume, dogging our heroes at every turn. Hal and his friends remain steadfast and resourceful and Robinson keeps throwing obstacles at them with zeal and flair. Hal tackles dealing with the scrags gaining shifter powers with a wicked twist that is supremely clever.Robinson has crafted a series that is targeted for young readers but has nuance and verve in such copious amounts that adults will find it a great read too. Many readers comment how they can see this as a movie franchise and I agree. Hollywood could snatch it up and have nine movies all lined up to feed to the hungry masses. My hope is that the Island of Fog series will explode even more and have readers clamoring for it in greater and greater numbers. That sort of success is totally due Keith. His drive and determination to produce the series is evident in how many volumes he's released over the last few years and his enthusiasm to return to the world he's crafted for many books to come is something I am pleased to see.So go out there and bang the drums for a series that is a real gem! Let's bring on the Fog! What cute name should fans of the series call themselves? Foggers? Foggies? Fogites? It's so sad to reach the end of this great series. I've eked it out over a few months but I couldn't stop myself from hovering up the final pages in one binge. I hope the author has a few more of his promised extras coming out soon. Apparently there are sme back stories coming on some of the big characters.It's not often that you get such a richly imagined world and cast of complex characters in a children's series.
