Love it. Very black and light absorption.Does the job

It is a thin material so I'd recommend using another drop behind it if you have a lot of light behind your background. I use this for photographing 3d printed miniatures and it works fantastic. Great buy.

It clearly says in the product description that it is velvet,it absolutely 100% IS NOT VELVET. It is sheer, see-through, flimsy and reflective. You will be completely disappointed. Do not buy from this seller.

It's true that this is just a thin piece of fabric cut off a bolt with frayed edges. But it got the job done. My photos have a black background. It does pick up a lot of lint and dust so try to keep it off the floor/couch and use some blue masking tape or a lint roller on it before use. I was shooting a small product so only had to do this for a small section. If you're going to have most of the background in the frame, I imagine this will be very annoying but it would also be very easy to just edit out in post.It's going to be creased when it arrives and needs to be ironed. I found that it worked well to only iron on the back side on a low/medium setting without steam. Didn't take long.It's $15. Don't expect a miracle.

This was just what I was looking for. This piece of fabric is light absorbing and very black. It works great as a backdrop for any photoshoot or a tablecloth if you're displaying and photographing items to sell.

This backdrop is so black that I also sometimes use it out of view along side the subject to subtract light from one side. Great product and great bargain.

As others have pointed out this is really just a piece of sheer, gray cloth. Not only does it not absorb / not reflect light, it's quite see-through. Misrepresented in the description and promotional photos. Other reviewers have uploaded photos showing how gray and sheer it is, it looks exactly like that.

its not velvet at all, its just shiny black fabric. nothing more..

Ordered this backdrop and was very impressed. The first one I received was real black velvet and super good at absorbing light (shown on the right side of the image).I needed another one, so I place another order for the exact same product, and they sent a completely different product. This one isn't even close to black velvet and is more of a synthetic fabric that's really dark grey in comparison.Reading other reviews this seems to be a reoccurring theme.
