Good quality for the price.
Nice small crock for pickles and such. I use it for pickeled eggplant. Olive oil, garlic and onion. Works well and decent quality.

Great quality for the money!
If you like sauerkraut, you have to get one of these! Started the day I got it and had FANTASTIC, organic, homemade kraut in 7 days. I added garlic and dill to mine in the fermenter and it came out GREAT! Also, It can make a LOT of kraut. I used one three pound head of organic cabbage on the first batch and I could have easily used 3, maybe 4 times that amount. I am buying these for gifts for some of my kraut loving friends!

Works great.
Works great for Kraut and other fermentation needs. Holds about 4 full sized cabbages. Good glaze coverage. I only wish the weights were glazed to prevent bacteria/mold from penetrating. Instead, I boil them between uses to sanitize.

A asset for fermenting recipes
What I like the most is that it comes with all the essentials needed for people who are just starting up their fermenting journey. Since purchasing, I've made several batches of sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickled chutneys. After trying it out for a few months I can honestly say this is a great product, sturdy and durable, and easy to clean and store. Highly recommend it for those interested in fermenting foods.

Im on the fence about the recipe book, the crock and lid are great.
So far so good, our first batch of kraut turned out good. We followed the recipe in the book that came with the crock and would change it up a little as it called for 4 tbsp salt per head which resulted in slightly salty kraut, luckily I used Kosher salt so not as much fits per spoonful. The crock itself is well made, the weights work well but are not sealed, they are like raw pottery so I have to imagine they will hold odor and all over time. Overall it works great, I bought 2 large heads of organic cabbage thinking it would fill it up, by the time you crush it down I could have easily fit 4 total in this thing!

If you like fermented foods, you will love this!
This fermentation crock works well! Good depth for large quantities. Good size opening to easily load cabbage for sauerkraut. Nice ceramic weights and easy visibility to check water lock. My only downside is this needed a bit of water on the rim while I traveled so lost one batch because I didnโt ask my housekeeper to check the water lock rim. The jar looks nice on the countertop as well! I have gifted this to friends and they love it too!

Defective! Moldy
Do not purchase. Has lots of tiny cracks that collect moisture and allow for mold!!!! Deeply regret. Hereโs a photo of it after it was just sitting on the shelf clean and dry!

Works well to make homemade sauerkraut
We bought 2 of these fermentation crocks, because we liked the durability and ease of use. Would definitely consider as giving as a gift if the needed.it seals well and sauerkraut is delicious. Well worth the price.

It's well made and it was packed good, so it arrived whole. It does what it's supposed to do and looks good :)

On my first ferment, after about a week, salt crystals started to form in complex patterns on the exterior of the crock. Clearly, brine was escaping from the crock through tiny cracks (likely due to a problem called "crazing"). Once the water evaporated on the outside, the patterns of salt were left on the surface. This renders the crock unusable for fermentation. It is a shame, because it was a really nicely designed crock. The handles, the smooth interior and the deep water well had me looking forward to using it for years to come.

In plaats van tweemaal daags de potten te ontluchten gebeurt dit nu vanzelf! Alleen om de paar dagen waterstof controleren en soms de inhoud. Plus een uniforme partij!

I ordered one crock about a month or two ago to make home-made fermented veggies. Started with kimchi, then Middle Eastern inspired torshi. A week ago, I ordered another crock and made 2 different kinds of sauerkrauts. So far, I absolute love these crocks. While we have a much larger beautiful ceramic crock, I love the idea that this one fits on my counter space and it adds a simple decorative minimalist element too. The groove in which the lid is sitting in is perfect to create anaerobic seal and protect the fermentation process. The weights fit neatly inside and they are easy to put in. I would recommend this to any fermentation food enthusiast.

This is a fantastic kit for fermentation. The crock itself is large and sturdy. The weights and wooden tamper are a great addition. It's ideal for making large quantities of kimchi/sauerkraut etc. My first batch of kimchi is still fermenting, but I have had no issues with mould etc. as I ensure I regularly top up the reservoir around the lid with fresh water. I am very happy with the kit.
