Recently used it on an extended trip through West Virginia on my Harley over some pretty rough roads
Very simple design that works well. I've had this for several weeks now. I use this with a Garmin nuvi 52LM 5 inch GPS unit. Recently used it on an extended trip through West Virginia on my Harley over some pretty rough roads. Lot's of shaking, but it stayed secure. For those that have had problems with the unit not holding firm, find someone with some upper body strength to tighten it up for you. Mine initially slipped a bit, tightened it up and no problems. SOm e other reviewers also complained that there is no where for a charger cable. Um, you need to cut the foam backing spacers to fit your particular GPS unit. Very easy if you know how to use a razor knife, or just a razor blade. Took tree, maybe four minutes.Pros1) Price. Waterproof Garmin, $650, this thing, less than $18.2) Simple to set-up and mount. Just fit the backing pads and cut for your power cord, strap to the handle bars, tighten the unit up, and plug in. Easy.3) Stay's secure, but easy to take off for security. The GPS can be unzipped and removed, or the mounting bracket can be left on the handlebars and the unit with the case can be removed.4) Water proofing works well. I left this on the bike outside while camping and four inches of rain fell in about an hour and a half. No leaks.Cons1) Difficult to turn unit on and off inside case, although not impossible if you know where your power switch is located.2) Looks a bit clunky.I would buy this again and would recommend it.

Hard to handle(bar)
I was really excited about this item and figured it was exactly what I needed - now I don't think so. The bag part holds the GPS unit securely right up against the clear plastic window so I can see it clearly and easily work the screen. It included several pieces of foam inserts so you can get the right depth for your unit and keep it snug up against the window. There's a hole on the bottom with flaps for the wire, surely will keep water out. What I don't like is that the strap securing system just can't be made tight enough to keep the whole thing from staying steady on my bars. I can pull and pull on the strap but it won't go just one more click to to be tight enough. With a unit in the pouch, it's just too heavy to stay where I want it, and it ends up rotating downward to my gas tank. I end up having to tilt the pouch up to see it when I stop at a light, rather than during the ride as anticipated. Sorry, I'm not messing with a piece of inner tube tire or other liner. If I was going to need that, it should have been included in the package. It has become more of a distraction than a tool, and that's the last thing a rider needs. I'm sure I'll end up tweaking it or finding a better location (not many to pick from on a non-touring bike), or yanking it off and keeping the GPS in my jacket pocket for occasional checks.Just wasn't the awesome accessory I expected it to be.

Great, with a few flaws
This is one of the few mounts that work on a roll bar. The waterproof case is great, and the touch screen of the Nuvi GPS works when in the case, but there are two issues: the charge cord has a hole for it but cannot fit in the back of the GPS without cutting the foam pieces to fit around it, and to turn the GPS on or off you have to unzip the case (not too easy) to get to the button. If you don't mind these two issues, the mount holds securely and we have decided to just use it with the Garmin mount plate and it works really well.

I like it
Used on my 1500 goldwing, on a 1000 mile trip and worked real good. It fits, around the plastic covering on the handle bar, and holds good and solid. I used it with a TomTom Start 55. The touch screen responded as well as direct contact. I was able to see the display clearly, depending on the sun angle, rotating on the swlvel to cut down on glare and fade. I was able to see as well as when I had it not encased. I can not speak to the water resistance as I have not gotten rained on yet but it appears made well and will do the job as advertised.

Poor design & ineffective
I bought this for my husband because we travel a lot and wanted to use the GPS to assist us in our trip. The major complaint I have is that you can't clearly see the GPS screen when the sun is shining or if it is really bright outside. The sun reflects off the cover and thus the glare prohibits you from effectively seeing the screen. My husband had to literally to try and shield the top of the cover of the case to try and see the screen (which really didn't help at all) or stop to take the GPS out of the case to really see the information on the screen. It was like being blinded because the design of the case failed to properly shield the sun from a person having a clear view of the screen so all you saw was the reflection of the light not the screen. The concept was a good idea but the ineffectiveness of the design and then end product is horrible because it doesn't address the issues with the glare of the sun or bright light. My advice, don't waste your money on this it's not worth the hassle and ineffectiveness of traveling with it safely while driving a motorcycle or bicycle.

Easy to use, very thought out product for usefulness
Easy to put on my snowmobile handle bars! Can still use touch screen with plastic cover. Foam parts to adjust for size of you GPS or phone. I totally recommend.

Doesn't really fit Roadmate 5045
Does not really fit Magellan Roadmate 5045 - no way to hook in the power (the hole is in the center, not the left where the power plug is on device) and while the device fits within the case, it will not fit flush against the clear cover (too small) so there is no way to control the GPS unit while it is in the shell.Don't buy if you have a Roadmate 5045. Also did not come with a free micro sd memory card reader that I can see in the box. ::shrug:: live and learn.

would reccomend
i got this item, was shipped fast, i love the design but the only thing i would change is the weight of the gps pulls the clam down. i put a command strip between the bar and clam to prevent it from moving at all' other then that i love it.
