Mindplace Kasina DeepVision Bundle - Light & Sound Meditation Aid System

You have to remember you'll want to be able to operate this device without looking at it to the extent possible. The physical buttons and simple user interface are perfect for this.At first I was annoyed at no Bluetooth, but then I learned it's important that the light and sound are synced properly, and that'd be pretty much impossible to do with BT due to its significant and variable latency.If you want to stream to it wirelessly, that's fine, just get one of those $15 3.5mm to BT adapters like you use in old cars. It has a built in mixer, so you can add in your own audio in addition to whatever the device is playing, which is nice for the more basic programs.I really love this thing. It's a great alternative to doomscrolling and depressing news listening. You can meditate or just zone out without boredom.It has a great user community. Only issue I have is that there isn't a massive amount of content available for it. But a community member recently published a detailed course on how to make content for it, so that may be changing.

The Kasina MindPlace unit is awesome, as is the customer service. This review is mostly about the support I recently received. After having my unit for a few months, the selection button started to stick and not work properly. I emailed the customer service link and after getting an automated reply, I received a human reply from Andy shortly after. He had me run though several troubleshooting tasks to see if we could get things working again. After none of them worked, he offered to replace the unit since it was still under warranty. He checked in every step of the way. The entire process took about a week or so. After my new unit arrived, he sent a label to send back the troublesome unit so they could figure out what happened with it. This service was top-notch. So many times, a call or email will go out to a customer service department only to drop into the black hole. Once they have your money, they don’t care. It’s not that way at MindPlace! Amazing! As for the device, it’s super cool. The multitude of programs available is great. Plus, you can find more available on SoundCloud. There’s also software available to edit and create your own, but I haven’t figure it out yet. I find no real need since there’s such a large amount available. I also bought the DeepVision Bundle with Ganzframes. It allows the unit to be used with the eyes open. A couple of the programs got me so relaxed and deep into it, I was seeing fractals. It’s neat. Bottom line: Do yourself a favor and pick up this unit. You will not be disappointed.

I’m 52, tech incompetent, and clean/sober.I purchased this as a meditation tool/ option/ variation. When I’m particularly rusty on practice or highly agitated, I need more help to re-connect with the calm. I like it. I ultimately chose this over the competitor’s device whose AVE has lots of research because I wanted more preset options to increase the odds I would 💙at least one. Plus Kasina’s device looks far more sleek/ small. I had originally intended to also buy one of the heartmath devices (which also has good research behind it) but this Kasina is so satisfying, I no longer have the desire. My favorite preset Kasina program is river & forest.I purchased the bundle with 2 types of eyewear because I had the impression one used it with eyes open and I had concerns my contact lens covered, bulging eyes might be uncomfortable in the standard frames. The instructions, however, suggest closed eyes so I do that (with contact lenses out) and it is comfortable. So the 2nd eye piece is in reserve.Yes, it’s rather pricy, although half that of another (different but similar) tool I have: a CES, the $800 name brand Alpha Stim. Also, when I think of what I pay to visit a workshop/ retreat/ counselor & duration of partaking in what I pay for, purchasing the most highly rated AVE, which with care will 🤞🏻 last many years, the $400 price tag seems less horrifying.I store all its components in a plastic shoebox for protection, near my meditation space, and rarely take it on trips (but when I do, I still pack the space hogging shoebox).I haven’t yet partaken of the other 4 program categories of mental state, but I do like knowing the Kasina has more to offer, as it’s likely that someday I’ll try & find another something to add to the repertoire.
