Beautiful sounding and looking Lyre
Absolutely brilliant. Sounds gorgeous. Had to look up some youtube videos about how to string it but once that was done I was all set.

Great for beginners
Great beginner harp. I find it tricky to tune using an app but using the piano it is easier

Starters' instrument.
Nice little lyre for beginners. It needs to be rough tuned daily for at least a week so the strings can stretch and the wood can acclimatize, the same as any similar instrument. Only then will it be ready to play. Tuning with friction pegs can be a bit of a fiddle, but there's no difference between this and a violin, except this has quadruple the number of strings. Ha! Take it real slow, because with pegs a little goes a long way. The instrument comes with a few 10 gauge strings spare which are the ones that'll get busted- they're just the same as guitar strings, which cost £1 each, so no biggie there. For basic tuning, you can find a half hour of any particular note on youtube. For fine tuning, there's a lovely little program to be found on "theonlinemetronome" that's very good indeed. This is a beginner's instrument, which is why I've rated it as I have in terms of value for money. A quick look makes it plain that almost all of 'em are coming from the same place, but I picked this one because of the metal insert in the bridge. You can easily pay three times the price for an orchestra quality example, but for starting out, this ain't a bad one. I'm enjoying it!

I am a complete novice
I am a complete novice so can't really say if its easy to learn or if for beginners just yet. It has arrived well packaged and in perfect condition and looks and sounds beautiful. I can't wait to get started, will be checking out all I can on YouTube for lessons and tips. I have tuned it following the instruction that came with it. I am not at all disappointed, so far it is perfect.

GORGEOUS SOUNDING RAYZM LYRE HARP
Gorgeous sounding lyre harp by Razym, beautiful quality, easy to play. Extremely reasonable price. Love the panda eating bamboo insignia. Also bought the kalimba. Very fast (Prime) delivery. Normally even the Chinese-made lyre harps on Amazon UK, are sent by sellers, from China, which can take weeks. Am over the moon with my brilliant Rayzm lyre harp. It's a musical treasure!

heel mooie klank en met rezerf snaren, heel mooi. een klein minpuntje de draagtas die erbij hoort is maar wat aan de goedkope kant kwa bescherming, beter een meer degelijke beschermtas aanschaffen

Beautiful sounding lyre!
Arrival: The lyre arrived very quickly and came inside a very nice and stable carrying bag. It was not tuned so the snapping of strings during transport would be prevented and it came in perfect shape. The colour is very pleasing and the only thing necessary before beginning to play was a careful tuning. Tuning: For tuning two different ones are recommended in the instruction sheet. I tried both the one for android and IOS and have to say that android’s tuning app is better, because it gives very specific impressions of which way you still need to turn the key in order to get to the exact note, whilst the IOS app was less intuitive and gave less guidance for complete first-timers at tuning. That being said, the instruction sheet that comes with the lyre gives specific note indications for each string and therefore enables even beginners to (alternatively to the apps) look up tuning tutorials and just follow those. Plan in about 15-20 minutes for first-time tuning and pay close attention to the tightness of the strings as you tune them. None of mine snapped (which may have been because I used to play on a tightly wound celtic harp before), but it can be easy to forget to keep an eye on the tightness of the string on the side of the high pitched notes when trying to tune them to just the right sound. Touch and sound: After the lyre was tuned the sounds it made were magnificent and my partner instantly requested a single-instrument concert. It is notable that this lyre is one piece of solid wood and also lighter than other lyres of a similar size. Unlike what you may assume from a light instrument, it’s notes are not hollow or too high in general. The easy weight makes it possible to hold comfortably in a variety of positions and if you are a fan of both harps and lyres you won’t be disappointed. I started playing as soon as it was tuned completely and after having played on a celtic harp with 19 strings a few years back, this lyre is giving me that feeling right back. Due to it’s smaller size it’s also easier on your back when playing and the strings feel easier to reach too. In terms of the sound I would say that it is characteristic of a lyre to sound a bit less deep in terms of the sound vibrations than a harp, but this lyre comes very close and is exceeding my expectations in that regard! The only slight downside is that the tuning key could use a little bit of sanding around the wooden handle to remove any loose pieces, but that was solved by wearing a rubber glove on the hand that held the tuning key, so it wasn’t an issue. For people with access to sanding paper, just a tiny bit of sanding will do the trick. It’s not very un-sanded and there were no splinters when I handled it with bare hands, but I tend to want to play it safe. The lyre itself is perfectly smooth without a single scratchy or loose bit to it, so absolutely no concerns there. Verdict: I would highly recommend this lyre to anybody who is really interested in both lyres and similar string instruments. Its price makes it an ideal beginner’s practice instrument and the sound quality qualifies it as an addition for anybody who has already been playing music for years. It is a joy to play on and is hard to put down once tuned. Thank you very much for this already much beloved new instrument!
