Good cultural studies item
Lived in Montana many years ago and loved sending Duckboy postcards and calendars to friends all over the world. They (English speakers) LOVED to get my news with these Montana humour. I went back to Montana this summer and found the same postcards are still on sale! Then I found this book.It is said "If you understand jokes, you understand the culture of that place" - I think I understand 85% of Duckboy jokes, not bad, but still need to learn more Montana culture! So, I will say, if you enjoy and understand Duckboy jokes, this book is the MUST to buy because you give away postcards and calendars to make your friends laugh then you have nothing left to enjoy... if you do not have this book.Request to Paul: Your jokes and humour are never out of date but I want more new products with up-dated episodes so that you can publish the vol.2 of the book.

Montana Humor
Paul Stanton, of Milltown, Montana, has been publishing humorous postcards (Duckboy Cards) for several decades. The cards are for sale in drugstores, gift shops, and truck stops all over Montana and neighboring states as far east as Minnesota and as far south as Arizona. This book is the first collection of those cards. All of his cards are black and white photos of people in surrealistic or funny situations. As his market spread outside Montana to other northern and western states, he gave them more generic titles, e.g., "Cowboy Designated Driver" rather than "Montana Designated Driver" (a dog with the reins in his mouth taking a drunk cowboy home on horseback). This 1997 book was the first of two collections of Stanton's cards. The second, published in 2004 and entitled "Extreme(ly Dumb) Sports," is equally funny.

This is an important anthropological work.
Like Edward Curtis before him, Duckboy is chronicling a vanishing way of life.

Very funny, perfect for those who don't like cruel or dirty humor.
Hilarious. Great for someone with a 'gentle' sense of humor. No cruel or mean humor in this one. It's a collection of B&W photographs (postcards) from the Montana area.

I chanced on this in the humour section of a charity shop, and have ordered two more copies to give folk as it is SO FUNNY! It looks like possibly cowboy oriented but it will appeal to all folk with a silly sense of humour.
