These are the perfect size, exactly what I was looking for a window sill. I have had my cilantro, oregano and thyme in them for about 2 weeks and have not had a problem. The people in the other reviews who have mentioned problems with over watering just need to stop filling up the bottom... I have not used the “self watering” spout, I water them from the top, let them drain and then insert it back on the container, avoiding excess water sitting underneath it. 10/10

This is the perfect planter for my kitchen because the sill is only 3.5 inches wide.These are about 3 inches on bottom and 4 inches on top, but it still works in my situation.One thing to be aware of, is that these keep the plants fairly wet. So choose the plants you plant in them wisely.Like my basil loves it, but the snake plant didn’t, and had to be moved to a pot that dries better.Another thing to be aware of, is that because this is so effective at keeping the soil wet, I got fungus gnats pretty quickly, so I highly recommend getting a layer of sand or similar for the top, to help dry it out.Otherwise the pots are really nice and just as described. But since they are plastic and not Terra cotta, they are not good for plants that want a well drained environment. So choose your plants wisely.

I bought these to provide my cats with wheat grass and catnip, all of which has grown to a dark lush bushiness that my cats love to chew on several times, every day. The window into the lower portion is perfect for monitoring the water level, and the top section has a nice port for pouring water to replenish the water in the lower section.I bought a small watering can that has a spout that fits perfectly in the port to avoid spilling.

They are just as described. Water bottle to show size. I love how they fit perfectly on my windowsill. They worked great for my herbs! I transplanted basil into some, and I'm growing from seedlings in the other. They seem to be perfect for both ways (although some of my basil roots were fairly long, and went all the way to the bottom). I don't plan to use the self-watering as the only watering technique, so I can't speak for how well that works. I'm happy with them, and I would purchase them again!

These are really nifty little planters. I wanted to grow some herbs and put them on my windowsill in the kitchen. These are the perfect size. I also love that they are self watering. Just don't throw away those little pieces of fabric that are taped in the bottom of each one! I did use indoor potting soil that is less prone to gnats and I have not had an issue with gnats like some other people have. My little herb garden is thriving.
