I had to Drill 21 holes through 3/8 Structural steel, I bought 2 $56 dollar solid Carbide jobber bits, both expensive bit broke within 3 holes, chipped or snapped, we used walter bit for the remaining 17 holes with the same bit, will not use another bit from now on.. Unbelievable, love it thanks.

This is money well spent. I have been using these in hand drills on things like drilling out hundreds of rivets on a bus, to drilling out extremely hard and brittle bolts in a turbo, to drilling holes to tap in mild steel. Nothing can touch them! My new Drill Doctor might be collecting dust here soon from the look of things.Word of caution- Do not go using these in a drill press or machine like that! These bits will bite HARD! They won't break in a hand drill, because they have your wrists as mechanical fuses, but I could see bits getting smoked in a press.

I like the bits, all bits 3/16 and larger have a hex end to put in the chuck. The case came cracked and the smaller bits keep falling inside, I have to completely disassemble it to get them out. I will be switching all the bits over to a steel case.

1/4 stainless no pilot hole 3/8 bit with ease less then 30 seconds, even got the long curly q... in my opinion that's money in the bank and a smile on my face while I do the 1 thing I hate, drilling stainless steel. As a long time carpenter (25years) I have found my new metal bits and everyone better keep there hands off.. the cup is bigger then I expected and heavier then I thought, as I travel and will have to lose a tool to add these but there will be a sacrifice because these will be going. Highly recommend and I show them off on the jobsite it nice to have the best tools.

Best dang drill bits I have ever bought, great packaging too. I was trying to add a handle to my Stainless Steel tool box and none of the drill bits I had would even touch it, I even bought new Milwaukee Cobalt bits which did not work either.I am sold forever. Would not recommend. If you predrill/ want to enlarge a hole you will break the tips on the next size up bit you try to drill. Had high expectations for this set of bits, as I use other walter products with excellent results, but very dissatisfied with these. I was hoping to have these replace my MAC tools bit set that was 10 years old but ended up buying another set of MAC.

These are great drill bits for steel. They will certainly last many times longer than big box bits. If you are wanting a high quality set, try these.

On my first project drilling through some 1/8" steel plate, i broke my first 3/8" bit. There was so much "bite" it grabbed and snapped top tip off. I even pre drilled a smaller hole to start (bad move?) Not sure i can recommend this set for almost $80. I ended up drilling the rest of my holes with a slightly larger bit and those seemed to go fine. No clue what was up with the 3/8" . Is this a warranty claim ?

Hang on to these babies if hand drilling, they will make the drill motor work. Use of a T-handle and both hands is recomended.At medium speed and pressure they make an impressive chip. Excellent for press drilling or mill drill machine. Tough and razor sharp, and what I've seen they will stay sharp through many uses.

Good price. Great bits for drilling stainless steel if used properly. Good hard bit but can be easy to chip cause they are so hard.

These drills are OK value. Just note they are really hard and the tips will shatter if you are chattering or accidently catch a burr. I did sharpen a couple after I noticed some chips missing and they still drill great.

This is the second set of Walter bits I have, the only difference being the container. I dislike the plastic holder because the small bit fall through into the base and you have to take it apart to retrieve them. Good idea but poor design.

drilled a 1/8 pilot in 1/8 mild steel tried to go to 11/64 and it snapped instantly and then tried to go to 3/16 and it too snapped instantly this is the first time i used any of the bits very disappointes
