The Sun Sister: Electra's Story (The Seven Sisters) [Riley, Lucinda] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Sun Sister: Electra's Story (The Seven Sisters) Review: Outstanding Seriesโฆ.The Sun Sister is my favorite so far! - OMG! I have read books 1-5 and have loved each one. I have been devouring these fabulously written books all with historical perspectives in different parts of the world. So much so that I have not gotten around to writing reviews of books 1-5. While they are all 5 star, I love this one best. Electra was the most complex and challenging of the sisters. This tail involved exploring the very challenging topics of addiction, racism, religious and cultural intolerance during the 20th century. The characters, present day and past are colorful, exciting, flawed and oh so human! There are heartbreaking, hopeful and joyous moments. Love this entire series and am looking forward to reading books 7 & 8, although I am dreading finishing as I know I will be sad about being done. These tails are riveting! Review: most depth of all the books in the series - Even though Electra is the most standoffish of the sisters, her journey feels the most believable of all the sisters. Even though she is a supermodel her struggles are real, while her sisters who have much more regular lives and problems go through trivial hardships.

Captivating saga
I found the Seven Sisters series when I was traveling in Rio last year. The first book is set in Rio, as well as Paris, and I loved reading about places I've been. I was hooked and have read about all 6 sisters, moving on to The Missing Sister next.

Fantastic book and series
The Sun Sister: The Sisters Series Book 6 is by Lucinda Riley. This long-awaited book was well worth the LONG wait. With Electra being of African American descent, this book deals with many of the problems African Americans have dealt with in the United States as well as in other places. She brings up things we would rather ignore than admit in relation to race relations as well as religious tolerance. Along with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as the prostitution and sex-slavery that goes with them, Lucinda brings those frightful things to light to keep us aware of them and we see how a group of people gather together to give the help they can. It is a very inspirational work. Electra is the last of the six adopted sisters that Pa Salt gathered at his home called Atlantis. The girls are of different cultures and races and yet were brought up as sisters, to see beyond their looks into the person they really were. From the time she was brought home, she was always the loudest, most daring, and most discontent of the girls. She screamed her way through childhood. When she was old enough to attend school and attended one whose children were being brought up to be the upper class, she was bullied and ostracized for telling lies (she just exaggerated the truth at first; but no one believed the truth.) As she kept getting into trouble through no fault of her own, she reassessed the situation and began to get in trouble on purpose. After leaving school , she fled to Pairs where she got a waitress job and then was picked up by a producer and his faith in her led to her career as a high fashion model. She began to thrive and become famous for her shots. Now she is floundering in a sea of cocaine and alcohol. Where will she turn? Will she finally look for the clues which tell where to begin looking for her past? When she does find her past, will it be what she needs? Now we must wait again for Book 7 in the series to find out who the last sister is.

Electra is an interesting read.
I wasn't really happy with Electra or Stella. I loved the story of Cecily. I thought she was very brave, but a bit stupid with her relationship with Bill. All in all it's a good read, but not exceptional. I am interested in what the ending came up with the seventh sister.. So am looking forward to that. I love most of Lucinda Riley's books. My favorite book of hers is The Light Behind The Window.

I've been binge reading this series, since them being recommended to me, and am nearly finished with book 7. But this one, the sixth, I think may be my favourite. I wasn't actually looking forward to it, as I knew from the previous books about her sisters that Electra was a supermodel, and I thought it might all be a bit dull, but both the parts set in Kenya and also Electra's own story, was really enjoyable. And the relationship between Cecily and Bill was one of the best I've read...heartwarming, frustrating, sad.
