Just buy it, it is worth it.
I camp / overland extensively and I remember when the road shower hit the market a few years ago. I really liked the concept, but the price was too high. I attempted to build a PVC copy, but at the end of the day all it did was store water. I purchased at least two shower bags over the years which worked OK. I just returned from a remote backcountry trip from the North Rim Grand Canyon where we used the shower bag. Again it was OK, it did the job. After I had a signal I ordered the Yakima Roadshower 7 gallon. I received it today, inspected it, and installed it. I was very impressed with the quality of the roadshower!!!! I filled it with water, pressurized it and I was shocked at how well it worked. This is a lesson that I unfortunately have to learn over and over again, I should have bought it earlier and not wasted time or money on a PVC copy or shower bags. Bottom line, I am very happy with the purchase, I wish I had it on this last trip. Just buy it, it is worth it.

Yakima Road Shower 7 gal
Like the product. I almost popped on the 10 gal, but read a review about the weight of the products when loaded w water and opted for the 7 gal as I wanted to use the dynamic weight bearing capacity of my topper in more diverse ways. I believe full the 7 gal is 85lbs,, and the 10 gal is 130lbs. The mounting hardware is sufficient. What it comes with does not allow you to utilize T-slots in roof racks or an RTT. It requires additional hardware for this. I wanted to undermount the Road shower from my roof racks, but it utilizes pressure along with gravity to expell water so mounting it upside down or from the side rail both place the valve in high relative to the water positions which is antithetical to operation. So mount it upright. Mounts that attach to the underside of roof racks and into the side of the road shower are a viable option, but the instructions recommend more than just two mounting points when mounting from the side. It is made of aluminum and is heavy when loaded so increasing to 4 points of contact would significantly increase the mounting strength. Filling and pressurizing the tank are easy. It comes with quick connect attachments for the valve and hose. You can use a quick connect from the water source into the tank through the valve with the tank closed other than the valve, and this will fill and pressurize the tank. The other option is to gravity fill and hand pressurize via the Schrader valve. A small bicycle hand pump is a must for this. Max 65psi rated. The tank itself does not have a pressure gauge, so the instructions show a vehicle tire gauge being used. The tank comes with a thermometer gauge that sticks on. It heats through sun exposure. So afternoon showers over morning. The biggest wish for a revise from the manufacturer is the addition of a sight glass to see the water level. A pressure gauge is number two. Once you begin using it is difficult to gauge water use and plan ahead for fill ups. Downside: My quick connect fitting from the valve to the hose leaks when the valve is open and the tank pressurized. This means positioning the tank so it doesn't pour water into the topper when the back window is open or onto the tailgate when open is key. I want it positioned so it can be used to shower after surfing but also to wash dishes camping. I will likely buy additional mounting hardware to under mount it from the roof racks. I work construction and roof rack real estate is at a premium. I have used it a dozen times and taken it camping to San Quintin in Baja CA. The off road conditions there test the weight and dynamic capacity of roof racks, toppers, and the road shower. It took the conditions like a champ. You can mount the tank by yourself quite easily empty, but I recommend draining it completely before attempting to move or reposition it. I know I will like it much more after I undermount it. The Kammok Talon Crosswing mounting hardware using my roof rack 's T-slots on the cross bar underside with added steel plates to create more mounting points might work. You'd have to see what I am imagining. It'll work.

Leaking Hose
I bought this shower and mounted it to an overlanding trailer I've built. However, the first time I fill it up with water and pressurize it, the hose leaks and it isn't where you can do anything about it. On the end where the spray nozzle goes, there is a crimped fitting and it is leaking there. If it was on the threaded fittings, teflon tape would solve the issue. The tank seems to be sturdy, but I haven't used it yet, and if this hose is indicative of the quality, I might should have gone with another company.

Over priced.
We received the water tank today and installed it though did not have time to use it. Our first impression is that this is a 2-3 star item for this price of around $500 dollars. Way too expensive for the cheap accessories that comes with it. First the shower threads are bad, and then the tank does not have that welded loop on each corner that you see on videos and good for securing the tank against possible thieves. Instead they invented a “key system” that after use it twice the key broke inside the lock. Everything on this item is cheap, and the tank itself seems good enough, but no more than a quarter of the price it is offered. We are going to keep it as we were waiting for it and came late, but will need to upgrade it and buy a better quality accessories (hose, clamps, adapters, shower head, etc). Update: We measured it and it takes close to 6.5 gallons (not 7). Installed new hardware and filled it up. The tank worked as it suppose to do and the relief valve also. We found no paint in the side of water tank, up close to the collar and threads; so this may have been returned before.

No rack? No problem!
My van doesn’t have a rack nor is it possible to add one (2014 sienna L model)…anyway I really wanted this regardless since I live at the beach and frequently go to the mountains. Happy to say I modified an aluminum cargo rack for a tight fit. Just a grinder for cutting and there you go.
