yes, the back of the dog house opens up. The dog house I received was just fine and not misshapen.

The house of course tapers but measurements are approx Height 25cm (10") x Width 19cm (7 1/2") x Depth 18cm (7")

Q: Is there any way to buy a single puppy replacement? My daughter lost one puppy and has been looking for it for a year!

I don't know, but maybe a beanie baby dog would be the right size.
