Casstrom Bushcraft Knife Sleipner Steel

Absolutely love this knife and very impressed with the quality. The sheath is a nice addition and compliments the package.

This knife is absolutely beautiful. It’s also well balanced, has a sharp Scandi Grind and has good ergonomics. I have several LT Wright Knives and the build quality is on par with these knives. Spine is sharp enough to strike a ferro rod (Not LT Wright Sharp but well sharp enough) and the grind is even and well done. The shape of the blade allows you to get in tight spaces. Handle is well shaped with no hot spots. It’s not as ergo as the no. 10, but i like the blade on this over the no. 10. The black liners against the curly birch really pops. The sheath is high quality. Minor comments; welt is composed of 2 pieces of leather sandwiched between the outer layers, not one thick piece. Also, sheath does not have a ferro rod loop. While this. Is minor (i have leather belt holder for ferro), it’s convenient to have it all in one place. I am very happy with this knife and would recommend this to anyone, buy this with confidence!

This knife is outstanding. I feel like Im cheating on LT Wright knives because my knife collection is over half full of LT Wright knives. The thickness is perfect, the steel is strong and the finish is beautiful. The leather sheath is also beautifully made. Knife is very comfortable in my hands and no hot spots. The coke bottle shaped handle is great. I like the long drop point shape of the blade also. When i recieved the knife, i immediately took it out and beat the crap out of it. After a few days of making feather sticks, whittling, battoning and chopping, the edge stayed true and did not roll, dent or chip.A few things i would of liked to have but not a huge deal. I would of loved to see a bigger birds beak on the end of the knife, just for more control. The knife came sharp enough to cut through wood but wasnt hair shaving sharp. A quick hit with a dc4 and strop made shaving sharp, also very easy to sharpen. The most comfortable style sheath for me is a drop leg. This shealth sits a little high. I did purchase the dangler loop from casstrom and its perfectly fine. The brass pins are ehh... the knife has amazing finish on the steel, beautiful curly birch scales and the black liners contrast perfectly. A set of nicer looking pins would of set the knife off.Overall this knife is amazing and im very happy with the purchase.
