After gluing the bottom and middle pieces (see Box III), a disc sander is used to remove any excess glue/over-lap from the sides. This step is almost magical in how only -1- pass on the sander can instantly change the appearance from a very rough start to a beautiful smooth side. Next, a hand-held Dremel with a sanding bit is used to completely clean the insides of the box, top and bottom. Following that, all the external rounded edges are created, initially, using a different table router. Personally, I feel the rounded edges are one of the most attractive aspects of the boxes and therefore I spend quite a bit of additional time with a follow-up hand-sanding of them.
