Q: Is the iron rest removeable? this quesion was answered as yes, removeable and no, does not appear to be removebale. how is it removed?

Yes, pulls right out. Held in by friction, put board upside down on a table, open the legs to get them out of the way, with one hand push on the cross bar that the legs pivot on and with your other hand pull straight out on the iron rest parallel with the tracks holding the rest.. Mine pulled right out with about 10 to 15 pounds of force, I am a man so it might be considered hard for a lady.

There is no rubber on the iron rest. This is a very well made product, quality materials. We are very happy with this ironing board, couldn't ask for more.

Q: can the holder hold the iron when the board is hung?

It holds the iron when it is open but I don't see a way if hung. The board is big and heavy so I leave mine open all the time. It is the most sturdy board I have ever had and I love it.

Q: How long and wide is this board (with the iron rest) when it is collapsed?

61 inches approximately. 7 inches for the iron rest. So it's 54 inches of ironing space. It's 14.5 wide and with the cover it's 15. It is the most solid built board I've ever bought. So far so good for us.Seeing the answer below I realized I didn't measure the legs which are wider than the actual board. I get 17 1/2 " when collapsed and it is 63" long.
