Lovely Story
From the very first page, I was hooked. Millie is so obviously a real!y sweet girl. She tugs at your heart strings. When, she is forced to leave town and start over, she chooses a small town and buys a rundown bakery. All she wants is to live a happy life in peace. Enter Dylan. Handsome and flirtatious, he is hard to resist. His sister, Jasmine, immediately offers her friendship. Millie should be really happy and content, but something lurking in her past is preventing that. Find out what it is. Great story with wonderful, interesting characters. Don't pass this one up.

Sweet story
I WAS LOOKING FOR EXACTLY THIS TYPE OF ROMANCE!I wanted a shorter book and a lighter style without explicit details of the bedroom capers. Just enough but not really raunchy. The story was pretty simple with a couple twists for added interest, which I enjoyed.

great story!
I love everything about this book and will start on the second when I'm done here. All the characters are great and the setting is perfect. I love the endings to all the plots. Well written with plenty of twists and too easy to read since I read it so fast because I liked it so much.

Not a romantic comedy
The Amazon blurb said this was a romantic comedy, but there was no comedy at all. More tragedy. At least there was romance. Kind of odd that the book seems more focused on Jasmine (who I loved) and her husband Rich (who I didn't) than on Millie and Dylan.

This story was just okay for me. It was a bit boring, and I had to force myself to finish it. I know that there is a sequel, but I can't bring myself to read it. I usually always am interested to read a continuation of a story if an author writes one, but I just don't care enough this time.I had higher expectations for this book because I absolutely loved this author's "Rome" series, Both of those books were very enjoyable, and I loved reading them. I highly recommend those two books.

Heartwarming
I enjoyed this book, the first one I've read by this author. Sometimes you need a break from heavy reading to enjoy a simple love story. I found myself wanting to know what happened next, a sure sign I was enjoying the story.

absolutely charming
I loved this book and fell head over heels for all the characters! Can't wait to read the Christmas book of The Little Village Bakery next and learn about Spencer and Tory's romance! So much fun...

Doesn't deliver what it says on the cover
Firstly there are quite a lot of references to Wicca which if I had realised I wouldn't have bought this book as it's not really my thing. That aside though the cover says "A feel good romantic comedy with plenty of cake" but there is pretty much no baking in it at all and not really what I'd call comedy! Also hardly any detail of the refurb. the main character is planning which is just miraculously completed right at the end. I don't like to give a bad review for books as I appreciate it must be a labour of love to write a book but this really didn't live up to my expectations, even for chick lit.

Scrumptious!
Millie is running from a tainted past and a dilapidated bakery in the middle of idyllic Honeybourne is her destination. Millie's ambition is to make a fresh start and get the bakery up and running, to turn it into the village hub it once was. However, the bakery is a mess of structural faults and dusty beams. Worse still, it's severely lacking in the kitchen department; a pretty big barrier to making and selling delicious cake!Luckily, help arrives in the form of Dylan, a handsome young man who seems keen to help. His sister Jasmine is also determined to help Millie make the bakery a success, but even she warns Millie about Dylan's womanising ways. Who in the village can Millie trust? And when her past threatens to catch up with her, what will become of her fresh start? This is definitely one of Tilly's best books! The setting and premise is great, and all the mysteries surrounding not just Millie but the villagers she comes to know makes for an addictive read. There was also a great little side plot about Millie's apothecary remedies, something that helps ingratiate her with the villagers around her. I found this skill of Millie's fascinating, and I thought the risks of putting her abilities to work were laid into the wider plot beautifully. There is also a bucket-load of romance, some great comedy moments and an action-packed ending. Don't hesitate to get this book now!

be sure your past will catch you out..
The Little Village Bakery written by Tilly Tennant was one read I found once I started I had to know was Millie going to get the peace of mind she craved plus the happy ending she deserved. I loved how the author did not simply make Millie the typical single woman but instead she is “special” as she makes potions and soon those potions are helping her neighbours which she soon realises might not be the best way of hiding away from her past.I loved this book for the simple reason the author has written one excellent book where at no times I wanted the book to end.One of the main characters Millie has just arrived in Honeybourne to take over a derelict bakery though immediately you know that something is troubling Millie and it is something which she wants to hide away from but soon the one thing she desperately wants to hide from arrives at her front door knocking down every defence Millie has built up around her. There is also the lovely Jasmine who is mother to triplets and a designer of jewellery, and if this does not keep her busy enough she soon decides Millie needs a friend and that is going to be her. Millie immediately likes Jasmine and her family which includes her very handsome brother Dylan and this is where the action starts as immediately Millie is soon getting on with the very handsome Dylan. This book had it all a lot of funny moments, heart-breaking moments and even more scary moments. The Little Village Bakery written by Tilly Tennant is an excellent read which I loved from the first page and for that reason alone I am happy to recommend.

The Little Village Bakery
Secrets, Romance and Drama - and so much more.I really enjoyed Tilly Tennant's "The Little Village Bakery" and meeting the characters Millie meets when, to try and escape her past, she moves to Honeybourne where, sight unseen, she's bought a run-down bakery.Millie isn't the only one who has secrets in her past - and I love the way those secrets slowly unravel throughout the book keeping the reader wondering, guessing and hoping for a happy outcome not only for Millie but for her new friends, too.Lovely characters and all with different personalities, too. By the end of the book you feel as if you really know and understand every one of them. I'm looking forward to visiting Honeybourne again in the next book.

A beautiful story. Lovely village setting
A beautiful story. Lovely village setting, very idyllic and perfect. The story keeps your curiosity on the edge and you keep wanting for more. And it gets really gripping from chapter 11. I couldnt put the book down at all and sat up till 4 am reading it. The twists and turns in the story are amazing, the emotions and expressions absolutely delightful and the menacing factor makes you want to read on and on. Great book! Loved it and loved all the characters.
