Weekend Wraps: 18 Quick Knit Cowls, Scarves & Shawls

I have not read these books, but both my 11-year-old and 13-year-old nieces started this series on Sunday and have read the first four books in a week. These are hefty books and they are barely getting other things done because they don't want to put these down. The stories are apparently very engaging and they like the main character.

Great patterns

I do alot of knitting and will using this book to make Xmas gifts for family.

I gave this book to an avid, longtime knitter and she loved it. She found many patterns that she wanted to try. I loved the patterns, but as a beginning knitter, found that I would have needed help to complete the projects.

so many lovely things to knit!! have already started two and there are a variety of yarn weights and styles. there are both written and charts which I love because I am chart challenged.

Well received Christmas present

I will knit nearly every pattern in this book. Good value and lots of choices.

Have already picked out several items to knit and have downloaded to my Kindle so I have it with me when I am looking at yarn.

Apart from the fact that 4 patterns have sleeves, yes actual sleeves, which rules them out as shawls, cowls or scarves...all the patterns are frumpy, made with more bulky yarns, with none of the fine fingering/variegated yarns that have been around for some time.Of course this kind of thing is always subject to personal taste, but it doesent suit mine. If you like DK and chunky, rather older/more traditional type designs this will be for you.

All patterns need circular needle ...I don’t like circular needles!!
