Don't know for sure. Thee must be a standard required for DNA use. Try asking the manufacturer.

From description I cannot figure out what 1s, box of 100 means.. What is 1s?

hello, it means the each package only has 1 applicator in it and there are 100 packages per box, you can get 2's which would have 2 per package.

Are these the same type swabs used to test for covid 19?

I am not sure but they did not arrive as single wrapped. They were double wrapped. I responded to the supplier but they did not resolve the problem.
