Loopy for Eneloop
I love the Eneloop batteries, probably like most of you do. So when I ordered these Eneloop adapters I waited with great anticipation for their arrival. I currently owned several of the "no name" brand that are black and made from an inferior plastic. When these came I could clearly tell that the level of quality was better as far as durability goes. Upon testing the Eneloop adapters they worked exactly the same as the no name brand. Now having stated this let me explain further. When I tried to use my no name brand adapters in my various lanterns and flashlights, they would fit perfectly in some and not so good in others. For example, I own several full size Mag Light flashlights that require 3 D cell batteries. Upon installing the necessary AA's into the adapters and then installing that adapters into my flashlights the flashlight did not work. After looking things over I realized that I had to place a quarter (coin) in after I installed my the adapters in order to make the connection work. The same was required with my new Eneloop adapters. I had a few issues with some lanterns that I own as well. You can make them work with a little creativity when needed but it is a little frustrating when with just a little more effort on the manufacturing side this wouldn't be an issue. I will say that these adapters work great in most devices as is. So because of this and the quality of pastic vs the others brands that I've seen I gave it 4 stars.I have two lanterns that are exactly the same. I didn't notice any difference in the level of brightness when I was testing the adapters with AA's vs running D's in the other. It came down to running time. The Lantern operating on D cell batteries obviously ran longer than the AA's in the adapters. But, since my AA's are rechargeable Eneloop batteries I simply changed out my drained AA's for some that were freshly charged. The cost savings really adds up when you do the math. It is nice only needing to buy AA and AAA batteries that are rechargeable in order to run all of my portable lighting needs. You can recharge the Eneloop's around. 1000 times. Not too shabby.

Perfect for Using Your Existing AAs for Larger Sizes in A Pinch
I recently decided to make a switch from akaline to rechargeable to try & save money. Having invested over $100 in Eneloop brand AA & AAA batteries because they are one of the best rechargeable brands you can buy, I came to the realization that I needed batteries in also C & D sizes. However, Eneloop does not make rechargeable batteries in C or D sizes. If you try & look for some on Amazon from competing companies, the C & D NiMH batteries are *CRAZY* expensive ($29 for 4).Not wanting to drop that much cash, I saw that Eneloop does make C & D battery size spacers. What these do is take your standard AA battery and converts it to size of the spacer you place it in. I've used these in battery powered kids' toy cars as well as my Mag flashlight and these seem to work well. It's very important to note that this is not the end-all, be-all solution if you're wanting to rechargeable batteries for C & D size devices. The traditional ampere-hour ratings for batteries of that size are 8000 mAh (Akaline) / 4500-6000 NiMH for C batteries and 12,000 mAh (Alkaline) / 2200 - 12,000 mAh for D batteries.Traditional AA Eneloops are only rated at 2000 mAh and the XX Eneloops (black) are 2500 mAh. So comparing ampere-hour ratings to ampere-hour ratings, the AA Eneloops that you would use in the spacers are only a fraction of what the actual mAh of batteries at those sizes. So don't be surprised if by using these, you find your device that uses the C/D sized batteries do not last as long as they did when you used akalines or other type of C/D batteries. Regardless, these work wonderfully well if you have Eneloop batteries. They supposedly work with other brands, but I've read that there are some fitment issues depending on the brand/device slot.

Great for Using AA Batteries in C or D Sized Electronic Devices!!
These work really well to adapt an AA sized battery for use in equipment that require C or D size batteries. I have a whole bag of these in both sizes and a ton of rechargeable AA batteries. I used four of the D size cases just the other day to power a HAM radio receiver radio and the cases held the batteries securely. However, due to their light weight I had to be fast to get the battery compartment cover back on before the cases popped out. On the case itself it says not mix these adapter spacers with the actual C or D sized batteries. I would only do that in a dire emergency so if I use these battery spacers I will fill the entire battery compartment with them and not mix them with regular sized batteries.I went with the enloop brand spacers because I have mainly enloop AA rechargeable batteries, but this time I used Rayovac regular non-rechargeable batteries with the spacers. Using these spacers saves me a lot of money and saves the landfills a little space by not having larger sized batteries to buy or throw away.
