This mat is perfect for my black cats. In the hot weather it can get a bit much for them despite doing everything possible to keep them cool. I am really pleased that you don't need to chill or freeze it because the gel,( which is non toxic) activates and gets colder through pressure of them laying on the mat. It pulls heat away from their body enabling them to remain at a cooler temperature during hot weather.It's very tough material and they can't puncture it with their claws.An absolutely genius idea.I bought the large and It looks a little small but for cats it is actually a good fit. I recommend measuring the area your pet would lay down on before ordering. For a large dog you would definitely need to go for the XL or next one up.Measurement is in cm. So make sure that you have a good idea of the area your pet needs.It has so many benefits my one will fit in their cat carrier easily and is ideal for travelling in hot weather.Very easy to wipe down and keep clean.The company DSL Group sent it out straight away and although it was due for delivery Saturday, it arrived this afternoon. We purchased ahead of the 40oC heatwave and it definitely helped keep our pooch cool. It doesn’t stay cool awfully long (although I appreciate we’re dealing with extreme temperatures at the moment!!) we popped it in the freezer which prolonged the coldness. The description says it keeps cool for up to 4 hours and then takes 20-30 mins to get cool again, it didn’t last anywhere near 4 hours in this heat! Putting it in the freezer helps with this and gets it feeling cold quicker too. Overall a good purchase to try to help my pooch

Bought this for my puppy she chewed a hole in it first five minutes think this is a item for a older dog

My dog took an instant like to this product. Without any encouragement my dog lays on this when she is hot from walk or play session. It's nice to see. When the weather really heats I fold up the mat neatly, place in a clean bag and place in a nice cool fridge for 10 minutes. Works wonders !!!

This is supposed to be size Large but it’s far too small

It took a little while to help my dog understand that this mat was lovely and cool - we had to train him with treats to lie there. However, when he realised what it was doing, he needed no persuading! Even now that the weather is getting cooler, he still likes to take his naps on it.During the summer heatwave, I was so desperate for some relief from the temperature I actually borrowed the mat and (after a quick clean) popped it on the sofa to sit on myself! It was miraculously cool. It absorbs your body heat after a while and you need to get off it to let it cool down, but I still found myself wishing they made ones for humans! I gave it back to the dog eventually - I felt bad for stealing his belongings.I would note that my dog is a toy breed and I still had to buy the "Large" size, which isn't really that large. I highly recommend getting a tape measure out and checking what size you need.

The quality is good , not easy to break (until u get a new kitten who rips it) my older cat (only 1 years old) had it for a year and didn’t break it at all but the kitten ripped it fairly quickly
