Sun, Sun: The Joy of a Summer Day at the Beach ... A stunningly illustrated, fun and delightful rhyming book for Kids 2-6 (perfect for bedtime and early reading)

This gorgeous book is perfect any child to enjoy in West Michigan and beyond! As an International School Teacher hailing from West Michigan, I love being able to include a hint of my own experiences while helping kids discover what seasons and life is like in a variety of places (and hemispheres) around the world. The short and sweet text is perfect for any parent or teacher to read to littles without them getting antsy, which is a huge plus. I did struggle a bit with the flow of rhymes on a couple of pages when reading this aloud, but otherwise the words and illustrations are a gorgeous coupling that any child (and adult!) will want to read again and again, whatever the season. Great work!

This is a great, simple kids book! I love reading bedtime books that are short and sweet, with a poetic rhythm to bring on the sleepiness. It starts with the excitement of adventure, and ends with peaceful reflection--my kind of nighttime book! And the illustrations are beautiful!

Just received Sun,Sun! A darling book for my 3 year as he loves the rhyming and big colorful faces! For my 5 year who is beginning to read, the words big, site words a plenty, and she could answer all my “who, what,when, and most importantly, the why” questions.Thank you very much for a fun educational book to add to our collection.

Provides a delightful journey to the beach. Short, simple, lilting rhyme with delightful illustrations.

The book was short and each page turn had a different aspect of the beach experience that a child could relate to or want to experience, while doing so in rhyme. I also love the fact that it was a non-fiction experience that anyone can relate to. I loved the illustrations but all the detail on the face for younger children isn't necessary and can be frightening if looking at it from a distance (like in a classroom setting).

A beautiful story at just the right time.... Celebrating the official kickoff to Summer just after the Solstice and for my wife's birthday weekend, we have ventured off to a lovely seaside cottage on Cape Cod, accompanied by our two-year-old son... This image-rich book is written with the kind of style which will bring us parents back to the "wonder years" of childhood and which will tap into the creativity and wonder of every child who is lucky to read it! The illustration adds depth of detail and draws further on the special connection of friendship, Summertime fun, and of the beauty and magic in and of the natural world. Bonus coloring book will be a special treat!

I loved this book! I always say I am "solar-powered" since I am happiest when I am in the sun and the beach is my favorite place to enjoy the sun. I believe this book captured the joy that sun and summer bring! The illustrations are lovely and express the fun that is happening in "Sun, Sun". What a fun and beautifully illustrated children's book! One that kids will ask to read not only during the summer, when it perfectly describes their day, but also to relive the summer memories that get us all through the long Michigan winters! Rhyming is very important for young readers and writers, and this book sneaks it in wonderfully! This book will be read over and over again!
