GREAT APPLIANCE - used for hernia and back disc problem - JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER
GREAT Appliance. Used it for work and under dress gear. I use it for both and alternately as needed for umbilical hernia and a missing disc. It is wide enough to go diagnally for uplift that I sometimes need, but that same witdh can make it roll with a jelly belly like mine. First one in was purchased in 2023-07 and I just bought another, because I just wore the prior one to fuzz with a lot of outdoor work wearing it. I could try and de-fuz, but this one is just wore out. It was time to get another, and I CHOSE THIS SAME BRAND because it has helped and worked so well.

Pro and cons of two belly binders, a comparison review
Belly binders are helpful after open abdominal surgery to keep the surgery area in place; they reduce pain and discomfort. I found that they are not needed for laparoscopic procedures as the incisions are small.I have two belly binders; they are all tightened by Velcro. Velcro could be a bear to tighten on your own, especially right after surgery when the person is weak and in pain.I like the design of the Armstrong belly binder slightly better because it has two different systems for tightening: the main belt and the cross-straps, because cross-straps are easier to tighten. The NYOrtho binder has special Velcro covers to protect the Velcro in the washing machine, so I don't have to hand-wash it, whereas the Armstrong belly binder needs to be hand-washed (it does not include a cover to protect the Velcro). Both binders are helpful, but each has its own strengths and weaknesses.Ali Julia reviewReview of NYOrtho Abdominal Binder

Great for upper abdominal hernia
I really like having a hernia belt that will cover my upper abdominal hernia. So many products are for lower abdominal hernias or umbilical hernias. This belt would work for any of the 3 main types/locations.I know I need hernia surgery, but now just is not a good time. I kept having my hernia push through the opening when I would go to lift something, cough or sometimes just lean over. I needed compression and support. This 3 band hernia belt gives me the support I need. One complaint I have is that sometimes the space between the bands leaves red marks and I have to take it off and put it back on a little looser. This design works great if you have hips that are bigger than your midsection. You can attach it at an angle vs having the velcro go straight up and down - I tried that was and it kept rolling up at the bottom, so frustrating. But... angling it makes all the difference. Another thing to note, the velcro is very strong! That's great for its ability to stay in place, but not good if the underside of your clothing catches on it. I would recommend wearing either a long tank top or undershirt over it to protect your clothing. To wash it, I attached the velcro to the belt, put it in a mesh lingerie bag and washed it on gentle cycle. No fabric softener!!! Then hang or lay flat to dry.Make sure you take it off when you go to sleep to give your skin a chance to breathe. It you're putting on lotion, let the lotion soak into your skin well before putting the hernia belt on.Well worth the $20 spent for support I desperately need until I'm able to have surgery. Would recommend and would buy again!*i bought one for my father - he has a hernia too - and he said his gives him great support especially when he's working in the yard! He has the 4 band, I have the 3 band.Oh, a happy added bonus - it also makes you look slimmer! Definitely a nice feature 😉

So Far, So Good
I'm on day two of wearing the compression belt. I have a hiatal hernia as well as severe diastasis recti. Along with these issues, I also have compression fractures in my lumbar spine. So far, the belt is helping me to be a lot more comfortable. It prevents the hernia from protruding when I strain and holds the abdominal muscles in place, which helps with pain. It helps with my posture so my lower spine feels better. The belt is comfortable. Thankfully, it's NOT one of the rigid ones with boning. I buy those and won't wear them because they're uncomfortable. This one is fine under clothing but I recommend maybe a fitted tank top made of a silky material to wear over it so that clothing doesn't catch on it. I hope it continues to give me relief. I'll update later 🤞

Uncomfortable for 360 Lipo
This might work for other medical procedures but where liposuction is concerned around the hips, waist, and lower back, this is extremely uncomfortable. In fact, it's downright painful. The texture of it is not soft due to the elastic and when you sit down it flips up. The ridges in this also crease and create pressure on very sensitive healing skin. It also rides up. I would definitely not recommend this for those recovering from liposuction.

Favorite post-hysterectomy item!
I used this the first few days after my laparoscopic hysterectomy. It's soft, comfortable, and easily adjustable to your desired support. Definitely my favorite recovery item that I purchased.
