Well made, good finish, tight fitting lid
I rated this product based on its construction quality, my perception of its durability, finishing.Construction. This thing is all metal, and it feels very heavy duty. I tried but could not dent lid the while putting it on. The intake tube is also very sturdy, and seems like it will last forever. The throat feels like some kind of cast metal, it may rust in time, but it's plenty thick. The river washer/seal between the throat and the filter housing seems a little stiff and brittle, but I shouldn't need to remove it any time soon. The bolt and wing nut both seem to be decent, possibly nickel plated.Durability. Like I said, this thing is heavy, and all metal. The finish should give good rust and corrosion protection. The weak point on this may be the threads on the throat. It's made of some kind of cast metal that might rust or strip, but I won't be torquing this into the aluminum head of my air compressor. It should last forever.Finish. It has a black lacquer finish, glossy and thick, which also makes the lid fit very tightly. It's pretty smooth and looks good, but for this price don't get too picky. It has some runs and blemishes, but overall I think it looks good.Fleet. What can I say? Is a round pleated paper filter, and it should keep the majority of the dust and debris out of my air compressor. One word of caution. Make sure you order the right size for your machine! 3/4" MPT is actually about 1" outside diameter. My original plastic filter cover had a thread outside diameter of 3/4" so I had to use some pipe adapters to make it fit.Overall, great product, well made, and should provide long service.

These are quality filters.Just what I wanted for my compressor. It took a couple of pipe fittings and they look and work great.I had no idea that something like this was available. They are 3 times bigger than the stock filters that came with the compressor.I do a lot of finish work with lacquer and polyurethane and I was pretty sure the originals were already stopped up.These are great, shipping was good,Thanks Amazon!

CAUTION Very Sharp edge underneath the lid on mine
Was no burrs left on the top edge, only a sharpened circle of πͺβοΈπ deathπ ! Other than slicing some finger meat π off it was a good experience! Decent gauge steel & the quality to price ratio is good

It was just what I wanted, but I ordered the wrong size
There was nothing wrong with the intake filter. I measured wrong and got a bigger size than I needed. I was impressed with the quality and wanted to order a different size of the same brand, but I didn't see a smaller one. I like to support small businesses so I was disappointed that I wasn't able to find the filer size I needed from that particular store. Maybe next time.

They work great for an inexpensive replacement.
They were exactly as described. Worked out great for my air compressor.

The FILTER causes debris!
I rebuilt my compressor. Put these filters on. After a few uses the tank check valve wouldn't work. I took it apart and there were little chunks of white...kinda looked like fragile ceramic??? So I traced back every single component to the beginning, and then I found it. The glue they use to glue the paper to the filter housing was cracking apart in flakes and going all the way through my compressor where it got stuck in the check valve, preventing it from closing. I hope I can find decent filters locally. THROW THESE OUT before you suck in filter debris instead of filter out debris. How ironic. Fresh air would have been better.

Works, cheap, but poor quality.
Cheap, but build quality of these is very poor. The lid does not sit square as it hits the inlet tube. Inlet tube has thin sheet metal flap that restricts air flow. Luckily the spot welding is so bad you can tear it off by hand. The cast aluminum threaded part had mold flash all over and lots of voids/casting defects - steel or brass would be better. Filter elements are poor quality. Inlet tube is not straight. There is evidence that about a tablespoon of water had sat inside during storage or shipping. Lots of work was needed to meet my standards.
