"Ghost in the Darkness" is my take on the dire wolf image representing House Stark in Game of Thrones. This dire wolf in particular is easily identifiable to any fan of the series as being John Snow's dire wolf Ghost. In making this, I wanted to create a simple 3D piece that unmistakably represents both the show and books and fits in with any decor. Something that any fan of the series will instantly recognize, while at the same time those who aren't fans will simply view it as a beautiful work of art. ------- Ghost is cast in plaster from a mold I made of my original carving. The plaster dried an off white so I chose to paint him a brighter white. Due to the nature of the original carving, the way the light hits the piece will greatly affect how it looks. The higher the angle of light, the more pronounced the shadows will be on the plaster. The pictures displayed above were taken in various lighting conditions to show this. A piece of red glass was used for Ghost's eye. ------- Ghost measures 13.25 inches by 9.75 inches. He's about 6/8 inch thick and when hung on the wall protrudes roughly 1 inch from the wall. He weighs about 2 pounds. Ghost will have one sawtooth style hanger on the back for hanging plus felt pads to keep the plaster from touching the wall. ------- Mounting hardware is included. ------- Please note I also offer a Backlit version of Ghost for sale in my store. The backlit version is the same as this one but its fitted with an LED backlight so in a dark setting it can really emphasize the outline of the piece and illuminate ghosts red eye.
