The papers are (as with all RSL) challenging so that when you sit the real thing, you are confident in your ability and also, so that you may learn from your mistakes. The answer scheme is superb and extensive and my advice would be to let your child mark their own papers as their work will improve as a result.I was given this copy so that I may review honestly as a parent. I think that RSL provide the most comprehensive exam study guides that you can buy on Amazon as they are well thought out, well presented and the mark scheme has very in depth responses and top tips which will build your child's knowledge and confidence.

This is a truly impressive resource, which is approachable for all learners, whilst taking everyone to the top level. The methodology is brilliant, unmatched by most other resources, online or in book form, for you are forced to hone every single skill, whilst discovering interesting and varied cultural facts. A crucial aspect is that it is never boring or bland, but is highly stimulating: it manages to make you work extremely hard on your Spanish ( complex lexis, grammatical manipulation, verb conjugations, tenses) and gain in confidence with each module you complete. You end up scoring full marks and get your teeth into the translation exercises with more confidence. I personally learned a lot on how to use tenses correctly (including subjunctive and conditional), and enrich my prose with clever connectives and lovely idioms; the sample answers are truly inspiring and can serve as templates for consolidation; the "tips" are very helpful and directly applicable; one does not invent when learning how to write correctly in another language: we cut and paste, we adapt, before launching into some improvisation and bringing in new vocabulary that we learn on the side. The methodology and pedagogy help you do this, and it's great fun! I now recommend this learning tool to all my Cambridge university students who wish to learn a new language or brush up their A2/B1 level as well as learners who are preparing their GCSEs and hoping to continue at A level or IB. To me, this is what a truly exceptional resource should be, one which will increase your skills, make you score top marks and prepare you for A level and university courses. A lot of care and intelligence was put into this, and this resource paves the way to new exciting ways of improving language skills. Hats off and many thanks for its writer and managing editor. Having received a complimentary copy of this Reading and Writing package, I found it easy to build on my vocabulary and discover ways to gain an overall understanding in Spanish. When viewed by two pupils approaching GCSE, they found it to be a great help as it clearly set out and highly comprehensive. This is most likely to be a must for prospective students of Spanish.

As with all RSL publications, great care has been taken to provide the most helpful format, together with full explanations and answers so that studying at home is as comprehensive as having an excellent 1:1 subject specialist tutor. Reliably brilliant publications that are ideal for self-study with a supportive adult - whether this be a subject specialist or ‘novice’ parent. The guidance provides all that is needdd.

I was delighted to receive a complimentary copy of the GCSE Reading and Writing translation. Having previously purchased maths and English books for the 11+, I knew this would be another excellent resource from RSL. Asked my son in year 9 to review it. The book was layed out well and was easy to follow. The practice questions with detailed answers and top tips were excellent. The marks schemes were clear. Another super resource for exam preparation. Well done RSL.. Would definitely recommend these books.
