UPDATE: The double edge razor is a cool, retro razor, no question. You can get a cheaper shave in the long run (vs mach3), even if you're changing blades every 3-4 days (100 pack is $10). The shave takes a little more time, and with some practice I now use this much more quickly and without cutting myself, but it still happens. I just shaved with my Mach3 for the first time in 6 month, and it was awesome whisking this thing around my face without a care in the world. I shaved in half the time, and my neck was not speckled with red spots. I think 100 years of technological advancements in razor technology has made the Mach3 a superior razor in terms of ease of use and quality of shave, but not cost.After a year, I love the double edge razor, but it just depends on how late for work you are. Keep a traditional 3 blade razor for when you're running behind, and use the double edge for when you can take your time. I enjoy the double edge, but its kind of like saying a carburated engine is better than fuel injected (follow me?). They're cool, but you have to let them warm up.. clean them.. tune up.. etc.. But it sure is cool to drive a classic.BLADES: I think I started with too aggressive of a double edge blade (Gillette) and moved to a softer blade (Derby). It still look new after 6 months of use. I just bought a second one!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Still nicking myself after 2 months of use.. Blade or user error?? Not sure.. Never nicked myself this much with my Mach 3, but the shaves weren't as close either. Hmmm. How late for work are you?/

So far so good. This is my first safety razor. I received today although it came late do to a shipping error. It had a small spot that was missing the black coating but it won't impede on its ability to shave. Looks cool and has good weight. Works well.

I've been using this product for about a month now. It is a well crafted steel but the way the blade is shaped while in the razor does not clean as closely as I would like. I would recommend this as a starter but buy a better quality razor.

Purchased as a gift and it appears to be as advertised. I love the flat black finish. I will update this post after I get feedback from the shaver who received this gift.Update: The razor was well received and the user is enjoying DE blade shaving as well as the cost saving as compared to multi-blade cartridge shaving.

Received this razor with leather case. Extremely nice weight and finish of this razor. Seemed extremely nice product and no noticeable flaws. Unpacked razor put together looked great. Inserted into leather case. Pulled it out of case next morning to shave with handle come off the head from the base of the handle to the attachment chrome neck that screws handle into head. Looks flawless quality just the opposite I the one I received.

I really want to love this razor but the design is terrible. The head has already come off the handle after three weeks, there’s nothing securing it to the handle. Changing razors out each weeks feels like I’m just begging for sliced fingers. There better quality options out there. I really like the look and feel but the lack of quality makes this a one star for me.

A good safety razor that does the job very well and provides a good shave. Good safety razor for the price.

Best razor I have ever used hands down, so easy and such a good shave. Bye bye 16 dollar disposables and hello Justice!
