Our chickens were in a BAD way. the rooster favored two of them and they were getting BEAT up. The first picture even shows the massive gash one of our poor hens had. We felt SOO bad. so we got these, and were skeptical at first but we check them yesterday and they had BEAUTIFUL feathers underneath those saddles. So nice to find a product that does what it says it's gonna do. I bought these in early August and now it's December and they have held up pretty well. Some of the stitching has ripped a bit, but definitly worth it. It took the chickens a couple days to get used to them but now they do pay them any mind.

Durable and well made.

We only have hens but they were pecking on one girl so bad she had a really deep wound on her back. We separated her from the rest, treated her wound with a special spray and prayed. After 3 weeks her wound had healed up remarkably well but I was afraid they other hens would start pecking that spot again so we got this jacket for her and put it on. She moves around just fine with it and was used to it quickly. This has protected her wound area while it continues to heal and has keep her from getting pecked there. It is easy to put on and it is very sturdy.

The saddle fit and it was nice that it had adjustments but when they went to walk they felt constrained and just squatted. Maybe they would get us to them but I didn't want to chance them getting caught on something and breaking a wing.

I have a chicken who was getting mated and pecked raw on her back. After we separated her for a week to let her start to heal, we put her back with her crew but with her new accessory. The diagram was easy to follow. She did not fuss around too much while I was putting it on. Once on, she definitely was a little fidgety trying to pick at the straps or maybe preen her feathers to move them around. After that, she is fine with it. I feel so much safer with her and her crew. I used the second one on another hen then bought another set of 2 because I like them so much.

This was after 2 months. Do not recommend.

The snaps did rust after about 2 weeks.

Easy to put on my girl. Still need to check to see if feathers are coming back in.
