Light and fast, perfect for minimalist racers
I run 60 miles/100 km per week, mainly barefoot. But I use my SeeYa's when racing or doing rocky runs (I can run ~10% faster in the FiveFingers as I don't have to worry about toe friction burn that I find occurs when I'm running as fast as I can). This is my second pair of SeeYa's after wearing out my first pair (after a year of abuse, over 15 distance races). Made a half-marathon personal record of 1:34 in the last pair, and am currently breaking in the second pair. These are light and fast. To me the sole is still too stiff around the arch, but the light breezy fabric on the uppers is good for cooling. The Velcro strap is stupidly unnecessary (the shoes should fit like a glove if you size using the instructions on the FiveFingers website) so I cut my straps off to lose the few grams. The thin rubberized sole areas are placed well on the ball, toes, and heal and it took me a year of heavy mileage to wear them down (under the ball as expected for the running form).I run in a desert, and these can't be used in midday in summer (the heat transfers too well), but only masochists like me are out running then anyway; fine for morning/evening when the pavement cools.Would recommend for people with barefoot and/or minimalist experience. Newbie's should be careful to work up mileage slowly... perhaps using another FiveFinger that provides a bit more support/cushioning until you get your muscles and ligaments built up (these are light and fast for a reason!)

DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON / AT ALL!
So my brand new pair broke after just two uses. Strap came off in a clean split. Posted on Vibram's FB page and they said to contact the retailer (amazon only has a 30 day return/exchange policy, so that would be a no-go) and if that didn't work to call their customer service. So I call and the girl tells me Amazon is NOT an authorized seller in their book and as a result there is absolutely NO WARRANTY AT ALL against faulty products. So I'm SOL. This was my first pair of FiveFingers and I promise you it is also my last. Garbage!

The closest to running barefoot...
Run barefoot mostly. Bought these for running on treadmils (since they get warm, which may lead to blisters) or in thorny/rocky terrain. I run barefoot mainly because it is such a great feeling, but of course also because it is the way we are built to run (not on asphalt though). These FiveFingers come the closests to running barefoot of any shoe I have tried. Light running shoes, like the Nike Free, aren't bad but feel much more like conventional running shoes (the main thing is to land on the forefoot). I would recommend anyone planning to try fivefingers to allow at least a year for the transition. The best way to start is to go completely barefoot, it puts less strain on the legs (particularly the calfs) than even fivefingers.

Perfect barefoot running shoes
This is my first pair of SeeYas after running in the Bikilas for the last few years, and I definitely won't be going back to anything else. They were a little snug at first, but after running in them for a few days, they fit perfectly. I'd recommend these to seasoned barefoot runners, as well as anyone looking to get started with barefoot running (just take it slowly if you're just transitioning to barefoot running). The day-glow yellow is great, too!I don't have any complaints at all, and I'm eager to see how they perform this winter when there's ice and snow on the ground. Honestly, though, I don't think there will be any issues, and I'm tempted to pick up a second pair in a different color just to change it up sometimes.

Perfect for men
this my second pair (first one lasted ~10 years) I use them strickly for running and they are the best running shoes you can buy for money, after u get used to them. Just make sure you store them cold and dry (like you should dowith all glues plactic shoes), best for long term storage is the fridge.

Not an "All Weather" Shoe in the Long Term
All up, a great runner. However, I expected them to last longer. I've had to superglue the rubber sole back to the upper in various places, especially around the edges. Looking for a new, heavier duty style at the moment. For the record, I run on pavement, grass, wet sand, dry sand, over rocks, and through the ocean. That might make a difference.

almost barefoot
Good for feeling almost barefoot, but avoiding scratches. My feet needed some breaking-in though, until skin becomes stronger and chafing stops.

Super
