Easy to center and forget
I like this sight enough I will get another one. As for the brightness of tritium sights from what I have used, they are all more or less the same. They work on revolvers but as far as rifles go not so good. Front sight is too far away and has to be 100% dark to use to full effect. I'm buying these for the sight picture. Adjustment is a pain which is common with all dual base adjustable. I took the smallest steel punch in my gunsmith kit to push and keep the detent down and use the point of a bullet to turn them. That's all I could get to work reasonably fast. Forget the adjusting tools. Nothing works as good as a bullet tip. The reason I like this sight it just seems to center so easy and stay there. For me it is perfect width rectangular shape with perfect air around it. Seems like the air distance on the sides and top is identical. The closer my eyes to the rear peep ,to a point, the better they seem to work for me and also let me keep both eyes open. The finish is darker than the dull side blades, better contrast and crisper. It is easy to fade out and forget the rear peep and keep the front centered and crisp. I do not notice the sights white circle at all which is way I want it. I have had the standard width A2 but like the more width here. More accurate and much faster for me especially in poor light. I have a national match with the round pin sight. Too hard to center for me being round and narrow in the rear aperture which I can not fade out easy. This one works for me but I have always used square notches with lots of air on my target handguns. I also have carrying handles with shorter A1 stock and collapsible with only iron sights so not the same setup as you more than likely.

Works Perfectly
The product is exactly as described. They are actual Trijicon sights and come in Trijicon standard retail packaging clamshell. It also includes the sight tool as indicated. You will need it to turn the Trijicon lamp around to face you when have finished zeroing the sight (assuming it didn't happen to face you by coincidence).Installation was simple of course and took all of two minutes (for those that don't know, all you have to do to remove the front sight post out of a AR-15 front sight is to adjust it up all the way out. There is a small spring, don't lose it. Replace with the Trijicon post and turn it back down. Zero. Enjoy)The sight post is great, glows brightly, inexpensive and easy to install. I use this in conjunction with a Troy tritium folding rear sight and they work perfectly together. I have nothing bad to say about this product and would recommend it to anyone who would benefit from increased sighting ability in low-light situations. Which would be nearly everyone.

poor design
When I first opened this front sight post I was hesitant because it didn't seem to glow at all. I even held it up to the light... Ya, I know. It's tritium but I was frustrated and my brain was in park.Since then I have had opportunity to use it and guess what? It works. Period. The dot is small enough to be useful out to some distance while being large enough for you to actually see the dot in both daylight and darkness. The sight post is well thought out so you can adjust elevation while making sure it faces the correct direction. One word of advice: The package includes a taller stop that makes it possible for the top part of the post not to rotate. You don't HAVE to replace this but I found that it was more secure after I did.UPDATE, 02 October 2013: I have since replaced this sight post because the bond between the upper and lower part of the post came loose. To elaborate, This sight post is comprised of two pieces. The top portion of the post sits inside a tube (the bottom portion of the post) so it is able to rotate in order to keep the tritium dot facing rearward. In order to accomplish this, a small metal disc connects these two pieces. In my case, the bond between these three pieces failed and the top portion vacated my rifle during firing. With no direct contact. In short, the post FELL OFF during normal wear and tear. I am unable to endorse this product with such a catastrophic failure occurs after a mere 500 rounds and what I would consider to be gentle field treatment.

My setup is complete.
Glows just enough for me to pick out the front post in the dark without being a distraction. Seems robust (un-tested / beaten), and it fits my fixed troy battle sight better than the scratchy stock post. And an a2 sight tool was included :)

Not what i was hoping for
the sight is typical trijcon high quality but after using trijicons on several of my hand guns I am a bit disappointed. The lamp and white ring appear to be practically the same dimensions and brightness as my handgun sights. The problem is I'm dealing with a 16' sight radius instead of my handguns 4-5' sight radius. the lamp and circle look much dimmer and smaller way down on the end of my black rifle. Acquiring the dot in moderate to low lighting is virtually impossible with my YHM rear peep sight I feel a larger lamp and circle would be in order for rifle front dots but i guess trijicon uses the same dimensions for all their front sights. it is an improvement on the USGI black front post but not dramatically so. My Burris FastFire III is very fast on target but i'm gonna need a lot of range time to feel competent with this BUIS setup.

AWESOME
I already have the Troy rear back up sight with Tridium inserts in them so i needed a front post sight for my AR-15. With much research on this, i had two in the running. The Meprolight and the Tridium ...Im so glad i got this. This is a true Tridium sight, comes with Tridium sticker and all the packaging that comes with it. This is not a knock off. Put this on in less then 10 minutes and i could'nt be happier!! Bright and really looks good with the TROY rear BUIS! This is a great buy and would buy it again!!
