Fishman II 500 Inflatable Boat, Green

The boat (bought from walmart.com) is of decent quality but cannot be rowed because the oar retaining rings preventing the oars from slipping into the water do not work. The ring's opening is a bit small and the ring is made of rock-hard rubber, so it is not possible to slide the oar through the oar retaining ring. As the oars cannot be used for rowing, they can only be used for paddling as in canoeing. I checked my old 2006 Intex Seahawk II boat's oar retaining ring, and found it was made of a much softer rubber, so sliding the oar through was not a problem. In fact, those old Intex rings fitted the Fishman II oars well, so I will probably order the retaining ring from Intex [see my comment below for the hyperlink]. I should add that if the Fishman II has working oar retaining rings, I would have rated it 4 stars (the user manual is quite sketchy and not very clear which precluded 5 stars).

Awesome inflatable! I had the Intex Mariner 4 which was a great boat but just too heavy. We use the inflatable as an excursion craft to get to the beach from our big boat. At times my partner and I struggled to move the Mariner 4 both on and off our big boat and up the beach. This Fishman II 500 is the same size but half the weight! We used it this weekend and it worked fantastic. I can lift it and move it with one hand!

Purchased from walmart.com in September 2015 but unfortunately not opened till August 2016, when I purchased a Minkota 30lbs electric motor and an electric motor mount for the boat. Very difficult to register with the Secretary of State in order to use with the motor (at least in Michigan registration is mandatory in this case) due to lack of included or downloadable Manufacturer Certificate of Origin (MCO). For some reason walmart decided not to post my review so I am doing it here as a warning for that buyer sub-group that may want to attach a motor. Otherwise a nice boat for 2 adults plus fishing gear/cooler. Holding air well 2+ months after inflating it.
