Republic Wireless Moto G 16 GB - No Contract Phone - Carrier Packaging - White

The phone itself has had a few glitches, that I never experienced with my Moto X.

Doesn't work for my country. Chip blocked and no local tech support for it

I hated this phone. In all fairness, it was a replacement for my Moto X (1st edition), so going to a Moto G felt like a bit of a downgrade. But the phone itself was a nightmare. I began having problems about a month and a half after buying it (which is after the 30 day return policy, so missed that boat). The phone often missed group texts or wouldn't let me answer calls. Occasionally it would freeze after a call and wouldn't let me hang up. Then there were the times the phone wouldn't work at all, and I had to restart the phone for it to work again. Eventually, it stopped allowing me to access data. That was the point where I began trying everything - tech support, factory resets, the works. A new SIM worked for a while, but was such a hassle because Republic Wireless has to do tech support with you first and mail the SIM card after a couple of days of that. Group texting stopped working again about a week after I installed the new SIM. Maybe I got a lemon, but based on this experience I would say avoid this phone. Pay the extra money to get a phone that actually does the things you need, instead of an inferior phone that's a bit cheaper.

My first phone bill was $27. That's with unlimited talk and text, plus as much data as I need (not much for me). Then I got $11 refund for my unused data. Yes, you only pay for the data that you actually use.I love WiFi calling because my home and workplace both have poor cell reception due to location and thick concrete walls. Suddenly I don't have to stand near a window to make a call.
