First Dog book for a 7 year old
My granddaughter asked me to get a dog book for her and this book was a hit. It has great photos, covers all the important dog breeds that a 7 year old wants to see, and the book is just the right size for her to bring everywhere.

Dog book
Great pictures. My comment is that the breeds include are not the most common breeds. Gave it to my grandson; they have mini schnauzer and that is not included. Lots of exotic, uncommon breeds included. But the photos are great

A book for dog lovers
Living in a home that fosters dogs my granddaughter has developed interest in learning about all types of dogs. She loves to read this book. Each picture is accompanied by some basic facts such as he size, weight etc.

Very odd selection of breeds.
I bought this book as a present for my 9-year-old, to help improve his familiarity with dog breeds. It would be reasonably well-suited to that purpose, except that the author's choices of which breeds to include and which to omit are - at least by North American terms - quite idiosyncratic. For instance, you'll find no Basset Hound, Bloodhound, or Irish Terrier in this book. Instead you'll find a number of breeds that are far less well-known in North America, such as the Cane Corso, Hovawart, and Kooikerhondje. And, since the book contains no text (other than terse descriptive information about each breed, such as country of origin), we're left with no explanation behind the author's editorial choices, or what the author was hoping to accomplish with this book. The front matter suggests that the author lives in Panama; perhaps that context could explain the selection of breeds. At least the pictures are nice.
