ZULU Studio Glass Water Bottle with Silicone Sleeve

This is my go to Glass Water Bottle!I am so glad I found Zulu Products just for having a durable glass water bottle that could withstand some accidental drops now and then and have little to know issues. I have reviews on the Mixing Glass and the more Sporty Glass Zulu water bottles as well for a review on those.Pros -Holds 25 ounces of water, I love the fact that this is Glass from the bottom to the Mouth where you drink from! I have dropped this off my desk to carpet floor a few times with no issues so even though a little thinner glass than zulu's sportier glass water bottle it still can withstand a drop now and then on a surface that isn't really hard like concrete (have not had that accident happen yet!). This is the perfect size for drinking a decent amount of water throughout the day without having to get up to refill every hour cause the bottle is too small like the sportier one as well. I really like the looks of this one and it is really easy to keep clean cause 90% of it is glass. I like the size of the mouth for drinking from because my mouth can fit around it and seal while drinking (unlike the sportier one as well:D) and it seals really well and have almost no issues with spilling on myself.Cons -Really only one real issue with this glass water bottle and that is the way the handle on this lid makes me have to handle it with care (maybe that is why they put that handle like that so you don't swing the bottle around like I do on the sportier bottle cause of the rope handle). But seriously I wish the lid and handle were a bit sturdier. When I first picked this bottle up when it is filled (25 ounces+) the handle puts a cockeyed pressure on the lid and since the lid takes less than one full rotation to screw off there is a bit of play on the lid that at some point the lid might fail and the glass water bottle will fall to its doom😭 If I can make a suggestion - it would be to make the lid screw down tighter - with at least 2-3 rotations so that it will make the handle more firm and keep it from feeling a little iffy holding it filled to the brim. It is not a really bad fault since there is a little notch on the thread on the glass to sort of lock the lid to the bottle but it still could be better I believe.Summary - This is hands down the most useful and my favorite glass water bottle to date. It could use a slightly better lid/handle but not too big of an issue.Update - 2/24/2020Still my favorite Glass water bottle!I noticed that if you fill liquid above the bottom of the cap line then you will probably have a suction that will take the rubber seal out of the cap. Not a big deal but scared me the first time because I thought it was broken. Now I just try to make sure to not fill above the neck/bottom of the cap.Secondly I noticed that I like the fact that the neck and opening is smaller when drinking because your mouth can more easily seal the whole bottom and save you from getting as wet, but at the same time if you are trying to pour something in it is annoying that it is small compared to its body.Overall - Still Very Happy with purchase! I love the fact that it holds 28 ounces yet is sturdy enough to take slight fall and survive, which has happened at least a few times and expected to hear the dreaded glass breaking but to my joy it still is intact. By far my favorite and go to bottle for everything except when needing to hold for extended periods of time.4/20/2021 - Added CommentsI have used this water bottle daily for over a year and refill multiple times a day at that. Still my favorite water bottle hands down. Have dropped multiple times and no issues with it cracking/breaking glass nor plastic top.Only issue which I found a work around by accident is the top tightens and is rather loose. the fix is tightening past the stop until it is snug again (causes the top flip open lid to be a little bit too tight to the glass mouth so you have to press down a little harder for the catch to latch firmly) making it way sturdier feeling and so that if you have to swing the bottle around while walking etc. you don't have the feeling that it will just break off and fall to its doom on the road or anywhere else you may be walking. I actually bought a second one in case this one breaks or on long trips where I can take almost half a gallon so I don't have to buy plastic:D11/30/2021 UpdateAfter 20 or more falls I believe the lid is finally nearing its end. There is a crack developing under the thin part that screws to the bottle. The biggest memory was my less than a year old nephew laughing his head off when I was popping the lid when it was pretty much full of water. made a louder than normal Pop and set him off for almost 10 minutes. The lid doesn't really pop anymore now that the crack is weakening the hold on the neck. Definitely buying another.7/1/2022Still using this water bottle. I need a replacement lid because it has cracked in two different spots, but still does its job holding water in.

I’ve been purchasing Zulu bottles for a few years now. Some I’ve broken, others I’ve lost. Great quality, in my opinion. They’re glass, so of course you’ll have to take good care of them, but they’re sturdy, considering the material.This is a tall bottle, which I appreciate because it makes for a slimmer bottle that I can grasp with my hand easily. Being that it’s glass, it is a little on the heavier side, but that’s to be expected. It’s the closest I could get to a 1L bottle made of glass and in this “slim” form factor. It’s stylish, too. I love how easy it is to open the bottle to drink out of it – something I find critical while I’m jogging or on the go. And I trust that it won’t spill if I throw it in a bag because of the lock mechanism.

I loved this water bottle. Sadly, I dropped my back pack with this water bottle in it & it cracked. I've cracked every glass water bottle I've had. But this one survived several drops prior to the big one. It has a nice grippy silicone coat which makes it easy to hold on to & provides protection. The easy open top is perfect for when you're driving or on the go & only have 1 hand free. Despite being opened & closed hundreds of times it never stopped working.

This glass bottle is tough, 10/10. The plastic lid is just okay, 6/10. The lid may not withstand impact after many drops. This lid has finally failed after about 10-20 drops onto the lid. (I purchased in Sept 2022 for $17.14.) Since first purchase, this plastic lid has been weak-feeling. The silicone seals appear to be shock absorbing dampers, which would explains why the glass and plastic are drop-resistent. The glass bottle, after 6 months, is still flawless, with no cracks of any kind. I didn't know glass could be this strong.At first I was skeptical of glass strength. But after many drops (maybe 50 drops onto hard surfaces like asphalt/concrete), it's still solid.I only use this for filtered water. I've never had to use a bottle brush to scrub the inside.This glass bottle has NO ODOR, even the silicone lid. All of my plastic and metal bottles have develop odor and need thorough cleaning to remove the smell, even using filtered water.Anything other than filtered water will probably result in an odor, maybe even in this glass bottle. Flavored drinks and juices are staining, so expect to replace the bottle when odors and stains develop. (Maybe you can super-heat the glass to clean it? Idk.)Anyways, I'd but a replacement lid if it was available. I can't find any.It's a shame this wonderful bottle is a waste due to a plastic tab, smaller than a fingernail, breaking off. I wonder if I can mold a replacement tab latch out of sugru...hmm. Or maybe epoxy. Idk. Who has time for that?
