This is a normal bead board but the cover is great for putting an unfinished project aside.

The board itself: The board is nicely flocked so beads don't roll around as much. The neutral grey aids in color design. It's useful to have three channels to make multistranded necklaces or see how different drapes look. The upper part contains a ruler with straight channels. It would have been nice to use the depression in the center for a circular bracelet, but it functions for work-in-progress bead storage. The board is made of plastic and is quite thin. All the bumps give it some rigidity so that it won't collapse. The board feels unsatisfying in its quality. However, the board does its job well and is marked.The cover: This is a joke. I would have mistaken it for part of the packaging. The cover is not some piece of hard acrylic. The so-called cover is a thin piece of plastic that fits over the top of the board--assuming you aren't trying to cover the board when there are any substantially sized beads on it, because the cover doesn't allow for any clearance room against the board. The cover is so pliant that its best use is upside down as a backing to firm up the board.Final verdict: The board lives up to expectation, so 4 stars. I won't even consider the cover part of this product. If you're buying this because you like the idea of a cover, buy something else.

Easier to create a necklace with beads

I bought the bracelet one too and realized that this one could be used for it too! Love how it’s a good tool when I am working! It’s cheaper than Michaels or Hobby Lobby these ones collect dust. Was happy no defects with ky purchase either!

This was perfect for what I wanted. It made choosing, placing and threading my beads so much easier. I will buy another so I can work on several necklaces at once. The flocking means the beads don't roll around. I can have it laid out on the workbench and play around with the design over several days until I am happy, then threading the beads in order is a doddle!
