Read the weather's clues and signs with this eye-opening and enthralling guide from Sunday Times -bestselling author Tristan Gooley, pioneer in the art of natural navigation 'This book finally explains what weather is and the fundamental why. Clouds now have real meaning!' - READER REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'Every page is a gem' - READER REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'Classic Tristan Gooley: You get yourself comfortable in the armchair, a drink beside you and start to read, but before you know it there is a desire to get out of the chair, step outside and see if you can put into practice some of the things he is telling you!' - READER REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ***************************** The weather changes as we walk around a tree or turn down a street. There is a secret world of weather - one that we all live in, but very few see. Each day we pass dozens of small weather signs that reveal what the weather is doing all around us - and what is about to happen. The clues are easy to spot when you know how, but remain invisible to most people. In The Secret World of Weather you'll discover the simple rules that explain the weather signs. And you'll learn rare skills that enhance every minute you spend outdoors, whether you are in a town, on a beach or in a wilder spot. As the author of the international bestsellers The Walker's Guide to Outdoor Clues and Signs and How to Read Water , Tristan Gooley knows how to de-code the phenomena and signs to look for. As he says, 'I want you to get to know these signs as I have, as characters. By studying their habits and behaviours, the signs come to life and the meaning reveals itself. From this flows an ability to read what is happening and what is about to happen'. This is the ultimate guide to exploring an undiscovered world, one that hides in front of our eyes. *************************** Critical acclaim for The Secret World of Weather : 'A sensitive study that combines theoretical physics with beautiful nature writing.' - Telegraph Best Books To Read On A Summer Holiday ' The Secret World of Weather frames itself early on as an aid to forecasting, by decoding signs in mackerel skies and dust devils. But it's really much more than that . . . Gooley is the best kind of teacher: gentle, patient, nudging' - Richard Mabey, Telegraph 'Gooley marshals a riveting compendium of weather-reading skills . . . he has plenty of facts at his fingertips with which to excite' - The Times 'This breezy new book reveals how to read nature's very own weather forecast . . . full of fascinating trivia' - Daily Mail Review: Interesting read - This is a really interesting book and easy to dip into. Lots of facts and it is written in a way to entertain and inform. Not what I was expecting - as I thought I was just getting instruction and information on weather, so that I could forecast the weather nearby. But this is so much more - a lovely book. Review: Paper back easy to take anywhere - Good informative read

Wonderful writing, fascinating & useful information
Love this book and bought everything else from the author as a result. If you like the outdoors and want to read the weather better than the Met Office (whose forecasts I' sure are getting less accurate), this is a must. Enjoy.

OK
Bought as a gift so I only flicked through - seemed OK, if not exactly scientific.

an eye-opening book
Amazing insights and very readable style. After reading you are amazed by the fact that a whole universe of the weather, sky and clouds was there and you did not notice it. You just want to observe signs and constantly understand what the sky is telling us at the moment - you become a holistic natural detective. The book can work as a sort of initiation - opening a completely new perception and understanding of how nature works and how this impacts our everyday weather and us - in a very practical manner. The greatness of the book is that it sets you on a completely new journey of holistic microclimate and gives you a gentle push - and then you want to continue on your own further.

Very cool weather/outdoor book.
Lots of awesome nature knowledge that has been lost because of modern society’s proclivity to stay inside instead of outside. Fun to pick up and learn some random facts, or prepare yourself for more adventures outside. Highly recommend.

Change the way you watch the wether forever.
This well-written book is a pleasure to read. As a long-time outdoor lover, I have always been interested in weather and weather forecasts. This book opened the door to an entirely different level of understanding of weather phenomena and has made my life much richer.
