2.5 inch USB 3.0 Hard Drive Disk HDD External Enclosure / Case for 9.5mm 7mm 2.5" SATA HDD and SSD, Tool-free HDD Installation

So I found out that this was possible by accident but I've never had the need for an external storage but as I got more dependant on mobility so did my needs for storage and so I bought a mini pc and us my on line drive and this is used to house my old laptops 500gb hard drive. My case never seems to get hot I love the tool less compatibility it was literally open place close plug in and format. The instructions that come with it replaces a bit about what formatting is and which would be the best first for you. I choose extFAT so I can use it like a flash drive and save just about anything. But there are many different ways you can do this many ways you can format with right sodtware. The 3.0 data sync cable is amazing o wish phones would make that switch. It looks stellar feels durable and has two size foam pads to keep your HDD in place. I'm about to get a second one for my other HDD maybe use that one and partition it out for a mobile hard drive instead of storage. Anyways perfect exactly what I wanted and nothing I didn't want. Bought this product to give me a ability to hook up an 1 gb external hard drive to my second Xbox One with the Kinect. The product arrived quickly and packaged in a padded envelope for protection. It arrived undamaged. Once open the first thing I noticed is the packaging of the product was top notch even at the cheapish price. Sort of “Appleish”. The nice thing about the product is the nice metal look finish and it of coarse is USB 3 which is needed for the Xbox One. I threw in a Western Digital Blue 1 tb and hook it up to the Xbox One and it format quickly and was ready to use very quickly. The case even after installing 2 games to the hard drive remained cool. Overall there is not much that sets apart usb 3 enclosures, but this one defiantly had the nice feature to set it above the rest. The product was offered to me at a discount and testing for an honest and fair review. Also the packaged included a high quality thick USB 3 cable, don’t see it breaking very fast. I have a small chrome box that I might buy another one to add extra storage to it.

I purchased this item because it was gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for stylistically and functionally. Once I received it, it worked just as well as any other USB does however, i noticed (as other people have) they it fits very tightly into standard USB ports. So much so, that you need to use quite a bit of force to remove the USB from a port as well as to get it in in the first place! This did not bother my since it has been holding up but by the second time I used it, the USB portion detached from the crystal part when I removed it from my computer port.Although this is not a very good thing to have happened, I blame it more on the sizing of the USB than anything. In fact, I was really enjoying the USB while I could. I did not throw away the USB apart and am actually using it in my smart TV so that I am able to store shows to rewatch etc. I think this is the perfect use for this USB since I will not be needing to remove it from the USB port anytime soon! That being said, I do believe it is a good quality product that was undone by an error in sizing.I do not recommend this product if you are going to be using this USB often and plan to take it in and out of ports often. If not it is a good product to leave somewhere for extended periods of time but I think for that, you can find other options that are cheaper.

In theory, these handy little drives could be great. However, trying to plug them into your computer is a different story. They make them too small so it is extremely difficult to plug them into the USB port. I tried it on multiple ports on multiple computers and even on a USB hub that I own. I could not get a good fit on any of them. Do not get these unless you want to break the USB ports on your computer.

I am VERY disappointed with this product! When I received it I was so excited because it is a BEAUTIFUL USB, but when I tried to open it I COULDN'T. I had to get my boyfriend to pull it open, only to find that it was GLUED SHUT. Literally glued shut! It was even inside the USB. I returned it and requested a refund. I read the bad reviews on here thinking "maybe it won't be so bad" or "I won't get a bad one" and ordered it anyway, I really should have listened.I don't know if they did not check the product beforehand but I am still upset with how it came to me.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Super disappointed. I wanted these for my clients and waited patiently for these in the mail. They come in. NEITHER worked. I plugged both in. No light came on. Then wiggled it out a little and the light came on. Ok. Waited 5 minutes. Nothing. Computer never recognized it. Now I have no flash drive to mail my clients photos on and have delayed them receiving their product because this product is faulty.

I have purchased two of these to provide HD wedding films to my clients who requested that they be delivered on USB. I then slid these into the Wood Flash Drive boxes by Neil Enterprises (search on Amazon). Anytime I handled them it was with a soft cloth, so that I wouldn't get fingerpritns on the acrylic or metal surfaces. They make for a great presentation, but they do show smudges and fingerprints easily and will scratch very easily if not handled with care. They seem to work very well (longevity not tested), look great, and served my purpose very well.

Does the job perfectly. No frills enclosure thats easy to set up and connect. My internal hard drive was compromised so I needed to swap it and try to recover my data. Popped it into this and it worked like a charm (used it together with some recovery software). Its only flaw is that it offers little by way of protection. Essentially covers the hard drive in a plastic case with no cushioning. Thats fine though, an internal HD isn't meant to be banged around so if you can't manage to keep it still on a desk while using it you probably shouldn't be handling internals outside of a computer. At $10 it's priced cheap enough to purchase multiples if you have more than one HD laying around, better to keep it in this than to have them out with zero protection. I'm getting two more.
