I ordered this timed dish because my cat seems to think 4 am is a perfect time for breakfast, he cries outside our bedroom door at that early hour. I don't feel the same. I load this dish with his food before I go to bed, put it on the floor, set it for appropriate time, 4ish and go to bed. It doesn't make a noise when it opens, it would help and I thought I might attach a jingle bell so it would make noise but within about 4 or 5 days my cat had gotten the idea and now I have peace and quiet in the mornings and my cat is happy too.

The timer is not accurate. I have two cats who want breakfast every morning at 4:30 on the dot. I set each timer to go off 8 hours from when I set it. One went off after 6 hours and one went off after 7. As others have mentioned, the ticking never stops, even if the timer has gone off. It can be quite annoying. Additionally, there is no weight to this thing. It’s pretty flimsy and if you have a pet that is food obsessed and tries to get in they will move it all over the place. One more thing- the ice pack does not stay cold for even a few hours. I froze the cat food which worked way better. I opened these and used them so I can’t turn them, otherwise I would.

I noticed immediately that this product had a different name than what I thought I was getting but it looked similar so I didn't really mind much. After putting the batteries in I noticed a constant tick tock sound. I feel if this is a timer it should tick once you set it and stop once it reaches 0. Instead it keeps ticking and the dial keeps turning. I don't really mind the clock like sound. At the end of the day it's just a kind of white noise.Our cats picked up on the concept really quickly. They no longer try to wake us up at the first peak of light that has been becoming earlier and earlier each day. They sit by the dish waiting for it to pop open. It works well and feeds them generally at the same time.Only downside is I lost a very reliable 6AM wake up call.

This thing worked immediately out of the box. Our 15 year old Maine Coon kitty had us loosing sleep over his demanding feeding schedules. I would only get 3 to 4 hours of sleep before he was "nagging" again! Now, I set the timer for his 4 AM feeding. I slept the whole night. We actually ordered a second one so we could stagger the times. One at Midnight and one at 4 AM.

I ordered this 5 months ago but I had the shipping wrong so this was stuck at my sister's for months and now I finally started using it 2 weeks ago. My cat took it quickly, and apart from a couple nights where he tried to break into by swinging it through the kitchen, he now dutifully wait for it to open and doesn't wake me up at 5 or 6am anymore. It does the job, which is great.I wish I had known about the ticking though. It's non stop, even after it has opened it just keeps going, it's like having a grandfather's clock in the house... I'm super sensitive to repetitive noise, so honestly it bugs me, if I had been able to test it as soon as it was delivered I would have returned it.Also other improvement would be having 2 dishes or offer a way to buy an extra dish, as I don't run the dishwasher every day... (cat on wet food only so I don't want the food to dry and stay in it from one night to the other.)

I have never left a review on amazon before, but this product is so worth it!!!! My cat adapted to it immediately and hasn't woken me up at 4 am since. I was hesitant to buy it at first because I thought she might be freaked out by it, but she loves it haha. It is very easy to use, the timing is good, and the sound is barely heard unless you try to listen for it. Some people said their ice pack broke, but mine has been great so far, I just pop it in the fridge in the morning after I wake up and clean the bowl out and it's fine by night time. This product is amazing, and definitely one of the best things money can buy! lol. My sleep schedule is back to more than 4 hours a night and my kitty is happy :)- If you have doubts, just get it! My cat also has not broken into it, so if you are worried about the durability, it is pretty good.

I’ve been using this a couple of days and so far opens each time. I fed my dog out of the open bowl the first time like they suggest. After that I put the food in set the timer to test it and my dog sat there waiting for it to open. He knew his food was in there. I only set timer for a short time so he didn’t have to wait long and it opened. The next day set it then went out and it opened in the time set. The timer is quiet and easy to clean. Also comes with an ice pack. Will be great for my dog to get fed one meal when I’m at work.

This is a great product and I strongly recommend it. Its mechanism is simple and unlikely to break. Unlike feeders that drop food from a large container into a tray, a pet cannot (or is unlikely to) open it and help themselves to the food before the set time. The only reason that I am not giving it 5 stars is that I bought three of them for my three cats. Unfortunately they don't open at or around the same time. One of the feeder opened almost half an hour earlier than the rest and that won't go well with my cats. The reason is that you don't have very precise control over the opening time since it is not digital but a mechanic round knob. This won't be a problem for a single pet and I am still keeping one feeder. Instead of returning the other two, I am giving them to family members with single pets as I really like the product. Also, I love the thin ice pack to put under the tray if you want to leave wet food.
