These are amazing shoes. All the bad reviews either have VERY wide feet, or they bought their "normal" size and now they're too tight. These shoes will NOT accommodate EE wide feet. And they run a half size bigger than their labeled size, as in: size 10.5 is 11 inches long. But I won't waste your time with a four paragraph review based on personal opinion, or about some epic hike that we've all done before (ooohh! with nature pics!? Yea we've all seen the woods before). But how about some actual helpful information on the sizing? Ya know, the most important info for online shopping! Or worse, rant about my bad delivery experience (hint hint guys, no one cares!). So here's an actual helpful review!! Weird, I know. MY ACTUAL FOOT MEASURES EXACTLY 11 INCHES LONG (against a flat wall measure your foot from the back of your heel to the tip of the longest toe). I BOUGHT THE 10.5 AND THEY FIT PERFECT WITH STANDARD SOCKS. Boom, done, easy. You're welcome.

Salomon X Ultra 4 Hiking Shoes for Men, Quiet Shade/Black/Quiet Shade, Size 10 First off, if you haven’t been to BSA Raven's Knob in North Carolina, it’s an absolutely stunning camp! Our son, who’s a Polish Boy Scout, recently returned from a two-week Jamboree there, and we had the chance to visit during the halfway point. Naturally, I took plenty of photos to capture the experience. 1. Leg Day, Every Day: The camp is set in a gully, which means getting anywhere involves a trek downhill, across flat ground, and then uphill again—whether you're heading to meals, parades, or the pond. It’s a workout just getting around! 2. Built to Last: Our son is tough on his gear—he treats his shoes like a rental car. But these held up flawlessly, proving just how durable they are. 3. Water-Resistant: These shoes kept his feet dry, even when wading through puddles. They're water-resistant up to the ankle, which is a lifesaver in wet conditions. 4. Easy to Clean: After a day of roughing it, a quick wash with light soap and water, followed by drying in the sun, had these shoes looking good as new. 5. Comfortable Fit: Make sure you get your feet measured before buying. The comfort level is top-notch, but the right fit is essential. 6. All-Around Durability: These shoes aren’t just tough; they’re built to withstand anything your adventures throw at them.

I purchased these shoes after wearing out my Salomon X Ultra 3 hiking shoes after five years of heavy use. I did a lot of hiking and long distance rucking in the X Ultra 3s and I found them to perform better than any other hiking or trail-running shoe that I have owned. With other brands (some more expensive than Salomon) I have incurred serious blisters on my feet during long distance (50 miles or longer) rucks even after taking extensive precautions to prevent blistering. I wanted another pair of the same shoes, but after months of scouring the internet and numerous stores, I was unable to find a pair in my size other than the Gore-Tex models (which are waterproof but also trap moisture inside the shoe which can be conducive to blistering). I finally purchased the X Ultra 4s after looking at and reviewing several other models, and I am very glad that I went with these! They have all the features of the X Ultra 3, they are more aesthetically pleasing, and they are even more comfortable to wear (which I didn’t think was possible!) These shoes are extremely durable, comfortable, offer great support, and will save your feet if you do any long distance hiking!

This is my 4th pair of the X Ulta. I had two XUltra3 and one Xultra 4. Now bought another Ultra 4. I find that these shoes don't last. They have lasted for only 1-3 years. My last pair was bought just 10 months ago, lasted 1 season of daily use, and are now completely trashed. The waterproof membrane is broken and it now lets in water. What am I do do? I asked as REI if there is a more sturdy shoe but they said the Salomon was actually more sturdy than other shoes they sell. A full leather upper would last longer, so I might try that, but these XUltra shoes are very comfortable and perform well, they just don't last. I will try to get a cheaper non-gore-tex shoe for daily use, and keep the nicer goretex shoes only for longer hikes. Maybe with measured use, they will last longer.

I bought these shoes for a trip that would include miles of walking in both urban and wooded settings. I tried them on upon receipt and they felt OK and were true to size. I wore them around town for a few days before my trip and noted that the tongue needed frequent straightening but otherwise they seemed OK. I was wrong... On the first day's hike, I discovered that not only does the tongue persistently move out of position, but the laces become loose and need very frequent attention. The friction system that is supposed to hold the laces tight just doesn't work. Also, the left shoe started rubbing against the bone of my ankle in a very painful way, to the point where I had to buy a new pair of shoes. I don't know why it took several miles of hiking before this issue revealed itself. I tried to wear them again a few days later on a shorter walk but all the issues remained, although it took about 2 miles before the assault on my ankle began anew. I was very surprised that shoes of this low quality are made by Salomon. I've owned other Salomon shoes and boots and was always pleased.

Good shoe, but quite positive that they were used. Left shoe already had break-in wrinkles, and *dirt on the sole...* Box was also “recycled”... Not happy considering I paid top dollar... These are also much bulkier than the speed cross editions. Again, good shoe but... not at full price for a used pair.

Le scarpe si presentano molto belle e robuste. le ho ordinate perché tutti ne parlano molto bene. purtroppo però non le ho provate sul campo perché le ho restituite causa numero piccolo. io ho ordinato il 42, il mio numero abituale . ma le scarpe sono molto strette al mio piede! consiglio di provare almeno con mezzo punto in + del vostro numero . ho avviato la prassi per il reso attendo notizie dal venditore.

Excellent walking trainers. They're comfortable and offer excellent grip over rugged terrain. I live on the coast and walk my dog along the coast path, traversing steep, rocky and craggy. They are an ideal weight for walking. The are reliable over slippery wet rocks. The gore-tex works perfectly. I haven't submerged them but I walk through long wet grass. Most of all I find them comfortable. I have worn them most of the summer and they don't overheat my feet. They didn't rub from day one. The speed laces or drawstrings w/e they're call are working well. These are my regular size and they fit perfectly. I'm happy with the quality, they're expensive but it's worth it as the quality is so high.
