Thickness is perfect and sturdy. Worked perfectly for strawberry and brownie sticks.

So here's the tea. I have 2 cats. 1 of them really likes the smell of fresh dirt over kitty litter, even if it's fresh and clean. So I started putting bamboo screwers in the big planters. Not the pointy side up.bthat can injure your cat badly. They're thick enough not too break if a paw does put a little weight on it. Once your cat feels there's something there that will poke it's foot, it will look and see there's no where to step on the dirt and they'll be forced to go to the litter box. So versatile because the main purpose I had them to begin with was obviously to bbg veggies, shrimp, pineapple all together with some teriyaki sauce and that taste awesome. Hope this helps. Worked well with both country ribs and kabobs we just made. Sturdy, good diameter. Tapered point (watch it...it's SHARP!) slid right through long, meaty country ribs with ease. A bit difficult to pull out though. Excess snaps off fairly easily if the skewer is a bit too long to fit in a pressure cooker for instance. Pleased with this purchase.

These skewers are so good to have on hand as they make testing your baking is done so easy and they are great to use as a mixer and to seal parcels for the oven etc. Very useful little tool to add to your kitchen staples.
