National Geographic Kids Chapters: Together Forever: True Stories of Amazing Animal Friendships! (NGK Chapters)

What a pleasure to read Mary Quattlebaum's Nat. Geo. book of in-depth stories about very unlikely animal friendships. My early reader niece read the book to me and we were both amazed at these true life stories. My personal favorite was the first one about the friendship between Penny, a chicken, and Roo, a disabled Chihuahua. But the others, about a donkey and a goat, and a cheetah and a puppy were also fascinating. The book takes us through the way these animals meet, how their friendships form, and how their bond stays strong. Also included are super fun facts about the animals which help make the stories even more interesting. This is a worthwhile read for kids of all ages and adults, too. I'd love a sequel!

Do animals love? Do they form enduring friendships, even across species? Do they miss and mourn the loss of a constant companion? This endearing, well-written book tells the story of three unlikely pairs that will be sure to charm readers young and old. Highly recommended!

Loved everything about it

My 7 year old thinks it's "really fun!"

This is a very cute book with amazing photos!We actually bought this as a donation to my daughter's school. I made the mistake of letting her look through it before we had to bring it in. Well, next thing I knew, she was reading the whole thing and then didn't want to part with it. The stories were fascinating and she was so excited about them. I finally got a chance to read this very well written little book, but by then I'd heard each of the stories a dozen times.Long story short: we kept that one and bought another copy for the school. And my daughter has returned to it again and again!

Love these books to use for reluctant readers. I use them with tutoring.
