Great book
Insightful book. Truly a great read for an over thinker or someone who gets stuck inside their own mind. Book came from a public library but clearly was never read. Brand new

Packed with wisdom and compassion.
I’ve read a lot of books to try help with obsessive thinking, rumination, and the resulting anxiety. I’ve also read a lot over the years centered on eastern thinking. There are only a handful of books I keep handy on my nightstand to turn to when the going gets rough. This book is now on that list. It is short and to the point. She writes with directness and surprising wisdom on how to steer clear of the mental muck that gets turned up in our minds. She approaches it all with a deep compassion for the human condition that I didn’t expect. This book, along with Already Free by Bruce Tift, are now my go-to’s when I need a voice of clarity in the mental wilderness.

Great advice that's helped me
I think this is the best book on overthinking. I go back to it every time I feel anxious and it settles me down. She writes that we can't control the future and whatever we think is going to happen rarely becomes exactly what will happen. Also, we sometimes don't realize the resources we have available if something does happen to us. She makes great points about worry and overthinking. I highly recommend this book for those that are having issues with anxiety.

Great book to have.
This book has help me to understand how to stop rehashing things I did or happened in my past that I keep going over and over wishing I did it differently. Cleared my thoughts so I can focus on the present not 'live in the past'.

Incredibly helpful! Packed with lots of practical and concrete tools and suggestions.
This book was incredibly helpful to me, both personally and professionally! On a personal level, this book reinforced the fact that the source of all suffering comes from our minds. We create narratives and stories for what has happened in the past and what will happen in the future so we are never really present. And, our thinking is often negative since our internal narratives match our emotional states.Professionally, this book is a great addition to my reference library! In the last few days, I have referred this book to three of my psychotherapy patients. It is difficult to find books of this caliber: Books that provide a sound theoretical framework and also offer concrete and practical suggestions and tools. Additionally, the tone of Can't Stop Thinking is kind and loving, decreasing any shame readers may feel about being an over-thinker.Highly, highly recommend!

Amazing for OCD sufferers
I didn’t have high hopes going into this book, as many OCD ‘experts’ still really don’t know what it feels like and how hard it is to ‘just stop worrying’. About halfway thru the book, I started reading many passages where I thought ‘This! This is how I feel!’ and it had never been explained so well and eloquently. I hi-lites many paragraphs and will use this book going forward to help me when I’m really struggling. I’m very glad I read this book, and hope it could help just even one other person that suffers with the tormentor that is OCD

A Practical Roadmap for Taming the Mind
This is a refreshing book, not only for it's elegant, clear, and user-friendly organization, but for the conspicuous absence of head-scratching, over-mystified psychobabble. Each chapter gives the reader relatable examples of the over-thinking syndrome plus accessible-to-anyone practices to tame the thinking monster. The author doesn't make any demands that the practitioner have experience with or affinity for a particular meditation technique, but only requests a willingness to be open to honest inquiry about the true nature of our thoughts. Colier describes "obsessive rumination" as its own kind of addiction - and shares tactics and strategies for overcoming it through awareness. There is a lot of distilled wisdom packed into this book, leaving the reader with a liberating new curiosity about what goes on in that busy space between the ears.
