I have the molded ear pieces that go into the ear canal because the umbrella ones don't work for me so there is a hole that needs to be cleaned and this item does the job. I put a little pressure from holding the string while running it through the hole also twirling the the string being pulled through and it does a good job.

These hearing aid cleaners work well. The string on each end is more stiff and the middle part is less fluffy than the brand my hearing aid professional provides. I like the convenience of having these and the ends being more stiff makes them easier to use. I recommend these for anyone with hearing aids.

Perhaps the reason is due to the shape of my son's hearing aids, but it was somewhat challenging to insert the stiff threader. It kept getting caught, and whenever I tried to wiggle and push it through, the stiff threader would come undone, making it impossible to thread it to the opposite side. I gave it three stars because after successfully pushing the thread through, I used Audiologist's Choice Hearing Aid Cleaner on the gentle brush and thoroughly cleaned it by pulling it back and forth, resulting in a satisfactory removal of wax.

There is a flow through air passage on my hearing aid that is cleaned easily with Nano-clean. Yeah!

My 93-year-old dad has excessive wax build-up that's always clogging up his hearing aid. (He wears an over-the-ear style, with a sound tube fitted with a dome that goes in his ear.) To avoid having to take his hearing aid in all the time (sometimes weekly) for cleaning, his hearing aid professional gave me a little cleaning tool - basically a thin plastic "wire" - to clean out the wax in the dome and sound tube, which is what the pro had used when he cleaned them out. However, the sides of the sound tube near the dome were difficult to get really clean, and I thought there had to be something better out there. So I looked on Amazon, found these cleaning brush threads, and figured it didn't hurt to give them a try. They are nothing short of wonderful! Each end of the "thread" has the usual thin plastic "wire", but between the two ends is a cloth-like thread that really cleans out ALL of the wax in the dome and sound tube. You just remove the sound tube from the hearing aid, thread the cleaner through the dome and sound tube, pull it through, and voila, it's super clean! My dad has noticed a big difference after the hearing aid has been cleaned with this thread, vs. just using the cleaning "wire". And, I can easily clean them for him as much as needed. It's a great product. However, it should probably be noted that someone with vision or finger dexterity issues might have trouble using this thread.
