The Truth About Love

I purchased this DVD after watching 'If Only', another movie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. I was pleasantly surprised by that movie and thought the same would happen with this one. I'm sad to say that this wasn't the case. This movie was not what I expected.The story revolves around Alice and her husband Sam. Alice receives a packet of radish seeds from an anonymous admirer. Written on the back, Alice's secret admirer declares his love for her. Since there is no name on the message, Alice assumes that her 'loving' husband has sent her the message. It turns out she was wrong. The message was in fact sent by the couple's mutual best friend Archie, who has secretly been in love with Alice since he met her.After getting wasted and accepting a dare from her sister, Alice sends her husband Sam a love letter marked anonymous. When the mail arrives, Sam opens the love letter in front of his wife and acts as if nothing important came in the mail. Alice begins to doubt her husband but instead of kicking his @$$, she convinces herself that her husband knows it's from her and that is why he doesn't mention it. To make a long story short, Alice goes through a lot of trouble to make her two-timing husband come back to her, and even after she finds out he's cheating attempts to save the marriage.This seemed unrealistic to me and even a little sad. I could understand and empathize with Alice but I just couldn't believe that such a nice woman would allow her jerk husband to walk all over her. No one deserves this type of treatment. I won't give away the ending, it's actually quite nice but I will say that The Truth About Love is not a romantic comedy, it's more of a romantic tragedy. Had this been written better I would have probably given it 5 stars. All the performances were good. I guess if I disliked Jimi Mistry then, he did his job well.Truly Loveable, if not flawed.

Hollywood is funny. I have tons of romantic comedies and some, like this one, claim to know about "love" but none of them actually do. Of course, that doesn't matter to me. I watch RomComs to escape reality. This was worth watching but it isn't a must see. Jen is always a pleasure to watch and, to state the obvious, prime eye candy. The plot is fairly predictable and sometimes completely unrealistic, even for a RomCom. I bought it because Jen is in my top 16 younger actress list.the disc played well and came on time. 5 stars to the seller.

Jennifer Love Hewitt looks good in this, as she always does. But, except for a couple of scenes, I felt the film was a bit weak, overall. There is some fairly good footage of Bristol, England. There is also the novelty of a man cheating on his wife with his wife, but not knowing that is who he is cheating with. Won't say how that comes about, it would ruin the film for you. Overall, though, I cannot give this a thumbs up for anyone except a big Jennifer Love Hewitt fan.

This is a great story and a great lady that plays the leading role. I would have loved to be the man she chose as her husband. but alas i am older than she and i will find my Juliet some day and be happy also. but the packet was nicely done and the time send was great. sincerely i thank Amazon the seller and all included in my getting this product. jdelton

I loved this movie because I love Dougray Scott and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Good Chemistry between the two which made it more enjoyable for me to watch. In fact upon receiving this I watched it twice in one day.

This is a great movie to watch! If you have any romance in you this is a fun movie to snuggle up with your lady for bonus points. Jennifer Love Hewitt is beautiful and an entertaining actress!

This product arrived earlier than expected and was well cared for.

As a fan of the Ghost Whisperer this purchase was a no brainer. It also didn't hurt that the gorgeous Dougray Scott and even more yummy Jimi Mistry were in it too. As to the film itself, its watchable. And Simon Webbe from the boy band Blue is in it. At least it wasn't RyRy from the 'oaks or the other one from the London based soap. I miss Antony! Back to the film. There's a brief cameo from Paul Robinson from Neighbours. Jen's accent is rather jarring but it's better than Jennifer Aniston. There's even a brief glimpse of Jimi's bootay! For only £2.96 this was a bargain. And it only runs for a brief 90 minutes. No extras mind, just a trailer. But there were SDH subtitles which is always nice. One thing I will say / tap us that the front cover is a tad misleading. JLH does NOT appear like this for the vast majority of the film. But it's a slight wrinkle.

Is it just me or does it look like the entire movie is dubbed/looped?Its so annoying to try and watching a movie like that, and it looks so FAKE!Overall the story is weak and boring, the actors aren't great, will NOT be watching it again!
